I’m amazed that Maxdalury had the insight to start Stafford in so many of his millionaire maker entries (405 out of 500 entries). I’m racking my brain as to how he foresaw the Stafford/Megatron combo (he started Megatron in 433) considering how dreadful they have been all year. The Bears defense has been pretty good against the pass too. Anyone have any insight on how he could have come to the conclusion to go all-in on Stafford this week? I’m at a loss and very intrigued.

Perhaps my CSV didnt download properly but I see Maxdalury as having Stafford on 125 of 500 entries.

    Same (see above).

Going “all-in” on Stafford/Johnson is pretty ballsy, but it was not much of a stretch to see that they were in a great spot to put up a bunch of points at a low ownership percentage. I only make a few lineups per week but had Johnson at ~50% exposure and Stafford at ~20%. These maxdalury threads are getting silly at this point.

I’m amazed that someone is shocked at this combo…maybe they should have researched a little better instead of firing up a conspiracy thread…By the way I went dalton /AJ green….that didn’t work out so well

This. We all do this. Last week I played Hoyer and Hopkins when Hoyer was still benched in the Thursday tilt. People out of their minds trying to figure out why ANYONE who has ANY idea about how to play football or play a game would pick that. So sorry you thought Stafford was a bad play this week but thats what happens. If you rewind 365 days this thread doesnt exist.

    Btw I played Dalton/Green too Julieduke33

I used Calvin and ….. Mariota. I think that’s more outlandish than Stafford and Calvin against the Bears LOL

  • paulmsr

I had Stafford/Calvin too was a great matchup for them, wasnt 100% but taking that combo and at their prices was not a stretch

No one had them 100%. Max had 25% Stafford. This thread is going to make my head explode, but I cant stop coming back… maybe Im the problem.

Not that surprised TBH, the matchup with Johnson vs any Bears CB was good. Historically Stafford has done really well against the Bears D. It was a no-brainer imo, now using him in over 70% is a risk. But with the Bears small CB’s and having one of the worst pass D’s its an easy decision.

Maybe if Max wasn’t living right next to the DK HQ, came from the same college as key execs, and is so buddy-buddy with the top brass, then there wouldn’t be conspiracy theories about his lineup selection on a particular week. This relationship is tops of my list of things that shouldn’t have existed. It is quite bizarre to say the least.

If you listen to any podcasts at all this week every DFS mind was all in on Stafford this week.

I played 3 qbs this week in 40 gpp lineups. I had stafford, palmer and bradford with 100% calvin johnson.

  • lgp

I thought Stafford was a really popular GPP play from everything I read and listened to.

Okay, fine. You played 100% Calvin Johnson on 40 lineups, but Maxdalury hedged his exposure between EIGHT different QBs in the millionaire make.

    EIGHT.

I have a lineup on fanduel sitting in first on the $5 rush and $2 snap gpps… Had the same lineup in the million but swapped out ivory, blount, and moncrief for foster, woodhead, and crowder right before lineup lock… Thought they had a higher floor big mistake may end up being a $999,600 mistake…

  • Colin408

I thought me going with Lewis > Blount and costing me $800 in equity was bad…. Wow, that one would be tough to swallow.

Yea would’ve been worse but I’d never taken down a big tourney so if I hold on to the other 2 that’d be nice and also the wffc seat and million dollar bracket makes it easier…

  • sumedocin7

i think this has taught me that bad defense matchups with underpriced QB’s is the way to go every week?

I learned this the hard way last season after editing myself out of two first place finishes. So now once I go through my roster decisions and hit submit, I never edit unless meaningful and actionable info such as injuries, benchings etc. come about. If I get certain last minute feelings about something, I add lineups rather than edit existing ones.

Another thing I will be doing going forward beginning with NBA this season is creating 3-5 dead lineups per slate in addition to my regular lineups. So if a contests fills but then I suddenly have some type of divine intervention telling me someone else is a better play, I will have the dead/dummy lineups to utilize rather than be forced into the temptation to edit an existing lineup due to the contest being full. Haven’t had to do this with NFL yet since contests are usually not full until the morning of, but in NBA and MLB they tend to fill faster due to the true daily aspect of the slates.
