Figured this would be a fun topic..3 years now into the daily NBA game, I’m engaged in which I never thought I could be. Like all solid players who play regularly, we all know basically..nights are either solid, good wins, heart breaking-down to wire, lose by just a matter of one more play having be made. And then you have your nights that are strikes and gutters, and the occasional, set fire to all lineups about 20 minutes in, and find your zen for the rest of the night.

However, amongst all these nights..no matter what, even on nights where you take down a good contest for some chunk change..there’s ALWAYS a good, solid, player..that you know is All-Star caliber, the entire NBA DFS industry knows of these guys and consistently are apart of daily write ups…priced between $5800-7200, that you somehow always end up fading out from all entrees for the night/slate..and they burn your ass each time. You wanna hate, but I mean..it’s routine..it’s just common, unless we’re regs who multi entree each night, we ALL have this player…who burns you, you well know it, and it repeats pattern.

Who is this player for you? For me, my guy is Nicolas Batum somehow leave out and nights like tonight, he let’s presence known right away..he got me again.

    Rudy Gay- so inconsisntent

  • CLYDENEWSOME

Anybody with the last name Morris. Any of the current Lakers, or Timberwolves, ie. Dieng.

  • Nelson01

    Morris,hortford,lavine,randle for sure

  • PujolsJunkie

Wiggins – that explosive run he had a few weeks ago was really annoying because I just can’t even consider rostering a guy for $6000+ that’s a possibility for 0 peripheral stats.

I hear ya on that guy. I always want to roster him and rarely shows up for me. Gotta love those nights I leave him off my rosters though. :(

  • WestCrook1

    Bazemore definitely

  • hiphopruckus

    jordan clarkson, thadeus young

I dig some of these responses here. On the guard plays, aside from Batum whom I originally listed to begin this thread…it’s safe to say, whether we’re dipping into the bargain bin or sticking to this posts original purpose (5800-7200 range)..Kings guards kill me (Collison in the mid, Lawson when trying to go stars and scrubs. Also the most infamously known fade play on my side is Pelicans guards. Can’t stand it, especially once Tyreke Evans comes back and you have him and Holliday taking turn on which side of hot/cold they’re gonna be..Tim Frazier is currently doing a solid job of providing that theory along with Jrue.

I’ll also throw in Marcin Gortat. I hit on a basic triple up last night on DK, with him rostered as my center and completely let me down. Lucked out in big way in having Illyasova, Ingles, and Rondo exceed and get me in the money.

  • CJtheGrump

They all do at one time or another.

I seem to have problems with Julius Randle and LaMarcus Aldridge. They are both very capable, one guy has foul trouble from time to time, the other has a coach who is rather unpredictable with his usage.

  • Chip403

Spurs, I almost refuse to roster any of them. Unless Patty Mills is getting a guaranteed, locked in start under 3900..I just don’t trust the NBA fantasy Patriots..I’ll also take fliers on David Lee IF given guaranteed start that’s it. Julius Randle is a matchup dependent player, who sometimes falls into “overpriced” territory. If he’s in a game where he can use physical presence more so opposed to squaring off to a guy with finesse game. I also see people consistently getting burned by Brook Lopez depending on his price.

  • IronMonkey415

    Robert Covington.

I stop saying NEVER AGAIN, because if the match up is juicy I’m back on that deathtrain again.

Does Klay Thompson count as mid-tier because he got me again last night.

Klay is an all-star level player on the same team as 2 other elite players.

He seems to go off on nights where they’re heavily favored, and Curry/Durant end up taking it easy. That’s all anecdotal though, don’t have any hard evidence to back that up.

I’ll never understand why people will roster Klay at his price tag in DFS.

Dude takes such a back seat to splash bro Curry and Durant in this offense, and all he does is score points with no peripherals.

Yall continue to roster splash bro Klay, thanks for your donations.

On paper he was in a good spot last night and only 7k. Figured he was safe for 30 points but hoping for at least 40. 0fer from 3 point range isn’t a good way to get 40.

Jae Crowder-“He’s always a safe play. Great floor and gets great minutes.” Sure.
Kent Bazemore-I rather baze less than I do baze more.

Only play Jae if IT and AB are out. He never touches the ball on offense I swear

IT2 was out tonight. And guess what, he barely gave me 20 fdp. Should’ve known to not even bother playing him tonight.

I almost never use him. Seems like he needs to get a bunch of “pick 6” steals, to exceed value.

Yeah. He has no upside at all

  • Johno

Any “mid tier” center not named embiid…. can’t seem to get them right.

  • specvspeed03

Bazemore for sure – everytime he has a great matchup he duds, and then he will go off the next night against someone like Utah.

Klay, Wiggins, Redick, Caldwell-Pope, Fournier, pretty much all those guys that can score but hardly get any peripherals
