I came here with popcorn in hand but was pretty shocked to find no discussion of it.

Worst part about it is that DK has an obvious case of cheating and yet promotes the win.

This is just horrible. This tweet here sums it perfectly.

Vote with your wallets folks. Boycott Draft Kings. We can’t just continue to sit back, watch this and continue paying rake when there’s so many other options out there.

There should be some ratio of slate size and max entries these smaller 2-4 game slates 150 lineups is a joke just asking for trouble if its a full slate sure, but just as 150 used to be 500 I’d like to see a change. Not sure why 150 was even decided on back in the day 20 max is plenty yeah yeah get off my lawn glory days!

Why because she’s a woman? There is absolutely no difference between what Papagates and ChipotleAddict do and what the Tollberts are accused of doing, except for the fact the brothers have won millions of dollars and this is the Tolberts first significant win.

All of these DFS bloggers aggressively pointing out there was no overlap in the Tolberts respective lineups have absolutely no credibility given the total lack of silence on the brothers who have been doing this quite transparently for years. I dont know why anyone is upset she won, this whole thing reeks of sexism, and is quite a bad look for DraftKings; pay this woman the money she won.

CA and PG often had > 0 duplicated lineups, even before the shit hit the fan with them a few years back.

DK is pretty transparent with downloadable CSVs of contests which allow us to find out when sketchy things happen and point at it.

it barely filled if it even did from my recollection…. no way they go down from 150… the 150 max was a perfect money grab for the big fish/colluders and dk until that randone kook blew it on twitter lol

  • chronoxiong

Its collusion like when condia and 1ucror used to share the same lineups in all the cash games I was in for NBA back then. When we used to have an edge. Remember those days? Pepperidge Farms remembers. That girl doesn’t know how to properly make NFL lineups. Its clear her husband made it for her.

Are..are they going to take DFS away from us? Take it away forever and ever?

I have being playing on DFS for two years and i had quite a few success with just few lineups though. And no this wont end DK yet.

  • tmarohl

Like I said earlier, DK could give two hoots about DFS. DFS will be gone in about a year or two. It is all about the sports book going forward.

Guys, the 150 max lineups is due to government regulations.

Please shelve the talk about doing away with it. It’s not going anywhere so the real question is how to enforce it.

It’s not deceptive for a husband and wife to both play 150 and coordinate on a basic level to stay unique from each other – and nothing is more basic than splitting QB’s.

  • goboltsgo

Wow read the yahoo article LOL at her toolbage of a husband trying to say this is only being looked at because his wife “a woman” won so ofc everone thinks its him. Yup b/c i’ll be damned if any women know about anything other than cleaning and kitchen work. Grr asshats like this that feed off the American wave of women movements piss me off. We are all human and we can all click buttons like monkeys but most of us do it without cheating.

I happened to watch a video on twitter with this great solution. Since dk has the data, they know who is colluding. So treat the colluding group as one person and give them 150 entries TOTAL. They want to play in a single entry? They would get one entry among their group. Great deterrent if dk would enforce it.

  • DFSx42

And now randone has locked his Twitter, going to go about living the discreet tout life now I guess

I also saw that same video and idea and think there is a 0% chance DK would ever adopt that rule since the ugly truth they won’t tell you is they like syndicate play. Some of these max entry players put in $500,000+ per week so now if you group some of them and limit what they can enter that is hundreds of thousands less being put in DK daily for them to rake. They are never going to implement a policy that will lose them money. It would be easy to do the same thing to counter lineup trains by users who enter the same lineup every single day. However it would be a big money loss if the users paying $200 for their projection model are not allowed to enter contests because they didn’t get up at 4am to enter everything first.

Idk what they do now but I would prefer they just eliminate the community guidelines instead of hiding behind policies they don’t enforce. Or if they do enforce them they have no transparency around it which hurts the image that they actually mean anything.

DK had lots of overlay in many different contests due to their insanely top heavy payouts. Many people are getting tired of the 25-40% to first place and 20% or less are mini cashing only 1.5X. If DK isn’t careful only the pros and/or cheaters will be left to play on their site.

This! Myself included, I have found myself avoiding certain contests because I know this is going on. Playing less and less. WTG DK, a PR fiasco for you

It wouldnt be permanent. First theyd get a warning. If they persist they would be put on this “treat colluding team as one person” program for say a month. Next time they do it….three months. After that perma ban. Youd be giving them every opportunity to not cheat while only temporarily hurting dks bottom line.

Having no guidelines will not fly with the states.

It would still be tough to enforce when at the same time they allow projection model sharing/selling. Some people who live on opposite sides of the world may play the exact same cash lineup everyday but different GPP lineups all because they bought the same projection system. It would be impossible to determine who is actively working together vs just using the same projection system. This is the #1 problem why the current guidelines are near impossible to enforce. A shared projection model can explain away almost any accusation of collusion and I don’t ever see them treating selling projection models the same as just flat out selling lineups IMO even though the two are the same but the first one requires the user to make 3 clicks.

  • bure10

Al’s idea really made no sense TBH. DK just need to enforce the rules they have and be transparent with the process. Come down hard on these two so the players know the consequences are real and everyone watching from the outside knows the games are fair and safe.

This has nothing to do w projection models. This is addressing people colluding to avoid the 150 max limit.

It wasnt al’s idea and he made a point to clarify that.

I dont know what the answer is but something has to change, like you said, so people know the games are fair. I think the first step is to not have dk investigate themselves and have an outside governing body adept at data analysis to do the investigating.

Secondly when people see dk not treating their own rules seriously, amoral people arent going to take dk rules seriously and these amoral people will take advantage of that.

IMO this does have a lot to do with projection models as people are saying the easy way to enforce this proposed rule change is by looking at the data to determine which users have the same double up lineups but never duplicate GPP lineups. If you have that data in their mind that is clear syndicate play. I am saying that this can easily be explained away by the fact that shared projection models are legal and 2 users can easily play the same optimal every single night but have different game theory in how to attack MME so they never overlap.

Nothing is ever as cut and try as it seems and if DK tried to enforce this new rule with anyone they would have a really hard time proving that my example above is not what is really going on which Draftkings themselves has said over and over again is legal to do.
