I came here with popcorn in hand but was pretty shocked to find no discussion of it.

Worst part about it is that DK has an obvious case of cheating and yet promotes the win.

This is just horrible. This tweet here sums it perfectly.

Vote with your wallets folks. Boycott Draft Kings. We can’t just continue to sit back, watch this and continue paying rake when there’s so many other options out there.

EDIT: Although since this is for a job at their Vegas location, it’s probably sports book related and not DFS related. Just noticed that. Still, kinda funny? Maybe?

It seems DK has rectified this issue. Everyone who has ever colluded on DK now has a $0 balance

well played, but people who read this post on Sunday probably will have no idea

Not to be pedantic (maybe a little bit), but the argument is that 300 lineups between 2 people who’ve coordinated entries to avoid duplicate lineups is objectively more likely to hit first compared to 300 lineups entered by 2-300 unique players. You could argue that there’s more variance in thought process with a larger pool of entrants creating lineups and thus there’s less of a chance they all tank together, but 300 uncoordinated lineups could realistically be 250-275 and chalky plays may be over-represented relative to the colluded lineups and exposure to low-owned players may be under-represented in the uncoordinated lineups.

Maybe too much of a technicality, but it definitely has a nonzero impact. The bigger issue by far is the fact that casual players got pushed out of the player base as DFS got more competitive, content consumption is nearly mandatory if research time is limited, and the biggest players showed they could out-bankroll average joes.

This is less of an issue (IMO) in MLB and NHL, where you can’t win simply by hoarding all the studs and optimal plays. But that’s somewhat plausible in the NBA because they have way fewer players involved and studs and certain punts are easy to predict. Even in a 8-10 game slate half he players in the pool are already out of the equation, and the optimizers will start scanning the remaining half for the right kind of plays. That will result in duplicate lineups and high cash lines that will prevent small players like me from min cashing.

But as you noted, whether 300 lineups come from 2 colluders or two separate users probably doesn’t matter in the long run. It doesn’t really affect the odds for true casuals who only play 3,4 lineups. The opponents of late swap don’t want pros to be able to reoptimize their lineups late in the night. But even if no late swap killed hundreds or thousands of their lineups, it doesn’t meaningfully boost my chances. All I need is one dud in my own lineup and the fact that I dodged a late scratched stud who was 30% owned becomes a moot point. That’s how big these contests are.

OK— DK has had a “WEEK” to investigate and nothing has happened, yet?

She’s not been paid out and no one knows anything? There was a poster that asked earlier if anyone else in last week’s DK MILLY MAKER had been paid out. No one answered, but I assume the runner-up and everyone has been paid?

    Any INFO?

Everyone was paid out last weeks milli maker. I was in it. She was also paid out her winnings. The issue is she can’t withdraw the winnings so its in purgatory right now. When you withdraw DK has to review and approve the withdrawal they obviously did not.

Edit: This is speculation on my end I dont have any insider information or anything. DK is really dragging their feet here and the longer it goes the worst it looks on them.

How do you know that you will ever hear anything from DK on this issue? My guess is they won’t ever make a public statement on it and if people ask about they will do what they always do and say we can’t comment on issues that deal with users accounts.

This issue will just continue to slowly fade away and no one will remember it by the start of the next NFL season.

Unless you believe that DK would simply confiscate the money then silence is an answer at some point too.

If the $1M that is never paid to Jade isn’t eventually distributed to everyone else who would have won more than the only assumption is it was either paid out or DK kept it. Both those options are equally shady.

My guess is that Jade will get her money and whatever they decide to do (if anything) in terms of restricting Tanner and Jade’s accounts will never be announced publicly. The best chance of figuring out what happened would be for Jake and Tanner to say what happened but if they get their money they may finally be smart and just not bring it up again themselves.

They haven’t shown transparency with any issue like this in the past so I am guessing they don’t start now.

I think they get paid based on past history. I also agree with you that DK is slow-rolling this hoping it will go away quietly.

My prediction is that they never publicly make an announcement but I think we’ll hear something from someone like ESPN’s David Purdham on Twitter that DK paid the winners.

I also think that DK will quietly settle with the second place winner who filled a lawsuit but it will be a lot less than the $900K difference.

The rest of us will quietly let this thread die and head back to our homes with our pitchforks waiting for the next big scandal to blame for why I keep losing every week.

It would not surprise me at all for an investigation of this type to take several weeks or longer. If DK wants to talk to Tanner and Jade and ask questions, and the latter have a lawyer now, I doubt the lawyer would allow that to happen until he/she is up to speed on everything, is able to prepare Tanner and Jade for the meeting and it can be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time.

If DK is doing a thorough investigation, they might prepare some kind of written work product that describes how strong the evidence is that contest rules were violated and how that evidence would hold up in a legal proceeding. It could involve hiring outside lawyers, number crunchers or others. Maybe also work product on how likely it is that they have to pay a second million to the second place finisher if they do pay out the bachelorette team. It’s hard to see how that could all be done within a week.

That’s not to say the outcome will be transparent to the public, but it’s not realistic to expect that they would resolve it by now.

It’s amazing that DK is just waiting for the sh-tstorm to pass them by. Gotta admire their crisis management skills. Eventually we’ll all move on to something else…

It is really something that DK is silent. Every day that goes by its less and less likely that DK will do anything. Its scary it really means there arent any rules.

Damn, do this many people really not understand how multiaccounting is bad?

Yes, Your ROI goes down if Phil Ivey enters the main event 1000 times. No, 300 entries from random people is not the same as 300 entries from some DFS wizard. No, it doesn’t matter that this particular time the person appears to not be said wizard.

If this isn’t a huge red flag to stop playing unless your multi accounting and cheating like everyone else , I’m not sure what else you need. Clearly they know they’re screwed and have no strategy other than waiting it out. This is big business and teams and lineup trains are the norm.

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Criminal Justice or Sociology.

Does anyone actually believe that Draftkings is ever going to make a public statement in regards to this. They have shown in the past to have 0 transparency to any “rules” issues so there is a 0% chance that changes now. The only hope to figure out what if anything happened would be if Jade, Tanner or Chris Randone talk about it on social media but I am guessing they are smarter than that if they got paid and Draftkings did absolutely nothing like I expect occurred.

Definitely not expecting them to make an announcement, but surely someone who knows Jade or her man would know if her funds are out of DRAFT KINGS “ purgatory” as was mentioned earlier.

Just would like to know if she finally got access to them. I’m sure the brains behind the operation wants his cut!
