I came here with popcorn in hand but was pretty shocked to find no discussion of it.

Worst part about it is that DK has an obvious case of cheating and yet promotes the win.

This is just horrible. This tweet here sums it perfectly.

Vote with your wallets folks. Boycott Draft Kings. We can’t just continue to sit back, watch this and continue paying rake when there’s so many other options out there.

DK is going to get sued by Jade and Tanner and lose. There’s no way they can prove collusion as required by law. Their case is all optics and I’m guessing they have no paper trail whatsoever. At worst they’re going to settle for something much greater than zero.

The civil burden is more likely than not. Its a balance of probabilities. Is it more likely than not here? Take Jade and Tanners social media history and the very obvious lineups on the date in question and it certainly is.

  • DickyBigtop

The 3 narcissistic mooks that ran their mouths on the day of question had to of just multiplied the ire of DK.

DK has their posse of high priced lawyers and sure as tomorrow’s sunrise they we’re consulted all possible outcomes.

If the dum dums really want to recoup some of their losses on the Milly, they can write a book on how not to F yourself over.

Best case for 2 of them, refunded their entries.

Best case for ranDONE, fill up the bath tub and drop a toaster.

Wrong. Like someone else said…cheating at DFS is one thing but lying in a court of law is completely different level.

However, I would not rule out future class action law suits against Draftkings as people wise up to what is going on in every single high end massive $1 million first place 150 max tournament. Because the problem evidently is not going to be fixed by Draftkings. Theoretically, one could probably bring a lawsuit every time one of these tournaments is run. Sure the person that wins is rarely someone colluding. But what about the colluder that finished in 10th, 47th etc etc? Anyone finishing below a colluder has a legit case to file a class action lawsuit.

Best article I’ve read yet on this and it supports the process DK went through – also makes me feel a bit better about the mystery behind DK’s “game integrity” folks.

    Yeah, I agree with this.

I really don’t understand why so many are upset with the resolution. Everyone was moaning that DK wouldn’t do anything, but they did! And now that big something apparently just isn’t quite enough.

Ha ha yah – people now want the flesh of the Burrito Brothers and all the money they were shorted by getting beat by them the past 5+ years. 🙄

“Prove collusion as required by the law”. I’d suggest DK actually would be able to meet the standard of proof in a civil suit. It’s really not that high a bar, and it’s pretty obvious here.

For Jade and Tanner to bring a civil suit they’d also have to be willing to brazenly lie to the court. Circumventing DK’s entry limits is very different from lying in a courtroom.

Agree – plus it’s going to cost Jade and Tanner a pile of money for lawyers so I’m not sure there is a ton of upside because there is a ton of proof she doesn’t play DFS or Fantasy of any kind. Also, anything they win in court would then be netted of their $62K they likely just got paid back.

At this point I feel like they have nothing to lose by suing.

That si article says it automatically goes to arbitration.

May as well roll the dice.

Don’t think they care about either of these things.

My gut feeling is they settled for something with draftkings and signed an nda.

What people don’t understand about dfs tourneys is the more lineups you enter the lower your ROI. If these two want to enter 300 lineups you should be happy – colluding in DFS lol

As minor as you may think it is, and maybe it is very small, 300 (or more) lineups working together with no overlap, gives them a numerical advantage over those that follow the rules. I agree people colluding like these two most likely will never get the big score but in rare occasions they do and its simply not fair to the rest of the participants. Ask the guy that would’ve been cheated out of hundreds of thousands of dollars if he would’ve been “happy” with them colluding.

They definitely don’t care about losing their integrity. They already lied to the public about Jade’s involvement with the lineup building and her involvement with DFS. Her meat curtains are all over the internet and they were cast on a trashy reality show. Integrity is not what they are concerned about.

Legal fees, on the other hand, will have to be considered when determining whether or not they pursue this further. Even if they break even and get their entry fees refunded, I think that might be enough for them to walk away. There is a lot of risk in suing and ending up in negative unless they can find an attorney that would only get paid if they win the case. Is this a case which an attorney would take a contingency on and only get paid if they win?

Very pleased that DK did the right thing with the collusion that was really obvious to all of us. I’d like to know if they confirmed a third account was involved (and what else was discovered for that matter).

On a normal football slate that would be somewhat true, but having a short slate, there is only so many viable plays, that they could cover a lot more combinations.

I’m just glad we have precedent for this kind of thing now and it may scare others from taking that risk.

Was hoping to see some additional funds from the NBA Christmas tournament. Unfortunately the Tolberts’ combined 300 lineups didn’t outperform the 1 time I played in a Milly Maker all year. My lineup didn’t even 4x the entry. If I was anyone outside of spclk I’d be hoping Draftkings paid them out to keep the burn and churn alive.

Why is this an example of shadiness? Instead, I’d consider it the exact opposite.

We all expected the investigation to drag on until everyone had forgotten about it and then peter away into nothingness. That would have been shady, but that didn’t happen.

Its because they gave us no answers. Just a vague statement that we bumped up some contests and let us try to deduce the rest.

You must not play on DK then. Both this year and last year. Because why would you ever do business with a “shady” company? Oh wait….

As long as the cheaters did not get additional benefits that we are not aware of in an NDA, I think what DK did is fair. Give them their entry fees back and ban them. End of story. However, only insiders will know what sort of deal the cheaters were given.

I played north of 200k in action in 2019 on DK. I finally saw the light on how rigged and shady DFS truly is with all the syndicates and lineup sharing that I decided to permanently self exclude. My choice and a tough one and I had a profitable year in 2019 but I feel like this industry is darn close to a huge house of cards falling soon enough now that the stakes are higher and these companies try like hell to exit (go public) to cash in while the going is good.

I’d rather spend my time and energy on an more rewarding things in life and my day job. This whole game is broken and while it was fun it’s obvious that the continued syndicate and team cheating will never be taken care of by DK and they don’t want you to know any details.

When you say cheaters – I’m assuming you mean this group that was dumb enough to get caught. You’re OK with the 50-100 others who team up and cheat consistently by skirting multi accounting rules, scripting and lineup sharing trains that have ruined any cash game viability? To pay a 10-15% rake knowingly in a game that is already ripe with collusion is a big ask.

No nothing explains it, my message was very clear. I had a profitable 2019. When deciding over your main source of income vs. a fun hobby that was increasingly cutting into family time and requiring a ton of risk, it was an easy choice. This news was the cherry on top (more collusion). If you know me, I’ve been very transparent on Twitter and with other groups on this process. Am very happy. Life goes on beyond DFS.
