    Hi Yahoo,

I’m requesting you guys amend two things on your data export.

    1. league data doesn’t link up – there is no unifying ID for each league, each individual slate for a league matchup is dealt with as an individual contest

    2. league data doesn’t include entry fee nor end of league payout – this makes tracking

I see a lot of thoroughness in these reports, even including canceled entries (which I’m unclear of why but imagine there is some use for it) and while attaching a code for easily grouping leagues may prove difficult (I can’t even manually do that because they share common names), I don’t imagine adding in an extra spot for the league entry fee and end of league payout would be too time consuming as that data already exists and just needs inclusion

    hope you can do this

    thanks

Wait….how are you able to export your history in Yahoo? Last I heard (and checking again today), I see no such export feature available. Last time I checked with Yahoo directly, I was informed there was nothing at all in this capacity (this was maybe six months ago).

On your completed contest page, there is a ‘download contest history’ button: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/contests/history

It’s possible to get this data, but maybe difficult if you’re not a programmer.

Browse to your completed contests page with Chrome DevTools open (Ctrl+Shift+I) to the Network tab. Find the request to an endpoint “userContests”. Copy the response data into a text file. You now have your history in JSON format with all of Yahoo’s internal information. The field you are looking for, I believe, is groupsId.

If you are a programmer turning this JSON into a spreadsheet should be very easy. If not you will have to do some searching. You can browse the format of the JSON in the Network tab to figure out how to parse it (hint: the contests are listed under ‘contests’ then ‘result’).

Edit: I assume you can get the league winnings from another request under the Complete Leagues page. I’ll leave that as an exercise :)

This is great feedback. I’ll talk to the eng team and try to figure out the best way to somehow include league entry fee and league winnings.

Quick update: we will be adding ‘leagueID’ to the existing contest history export sheet. This should be pretty quick (few days hopefully) and will at least allow you to group together contests by league.

Longer term we’ll be adding a separate “download league history” button on your completed leagues tab: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/leagues/history.

Wow I’m impressed at fast response :)

Hendog, really appreciate your response as well, I was literally debating learning script writing to get this data down.

@morley We have now added a League ID to the regular contest history download (called Group ID but renaming it to League ID soon): https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/contests/history

Later today or tomorrow on the League history page there will be an additional download button that will download history at the League level: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/leagues/history

    Only 7 months late!
