I would say there is a lot more variance, but the skill level of both is simlar; just a bit different (and arcade mode is definitely simpler, likely easier to get good at).
In regular mode, if you make solid teams with good matchups you are going to consistently put up good results. In arcade mode you only get 5 hitters, and home runs steals and rbi/runs are so magnified. Baseball already has a high amount of variance but having a grandslam being worth 70 points and a triple being 9 is going to lead to tons of variance. Same goes for pitching, like last night if you picked wrong between keuchel and darvish you were in pretty big trouble… Unless you had the guy who hit the grand slam!

    raises hand.

Wish I had Darvish. Would have been pretty.

You can stack McCullers with Gattis, Gurriel and Marisnek with and Indians stack of: lindor, ramirez and CHisenhall and use one offs of Neil Walker and Steve Souza

  • bigsmoot2

I’ve got Posey in my Kershaw lineup, but otherwise going elsewhere at catcher in the other two, as Buster will be what close to 90%?

Why do I have a feeling that that Rays/Tribe game is gonna underwhelm, as I have 4 man stacks of both in various lineups.

  • Conrad

Anyone chasing points on a double dong for a career 200 hitter, defensive specialist is a brave soul. Go down a little further and get Blanco or Zimmer.

Your correct, both TB/Indian Pitchers can pitch effective games. However, both pitchers can get lit up, Vegas thinks they will at a 9.5 over/under. I would not recommend a 4 man stack of TB. I would use only one offs from them; like Souza. Regarding Indian hitters I would use a mini stack of 3 players; Encarcion, Lindor, Ramirez or Chisenhall.

Early 2 game arcade decision. Go McCullers with weak bats or go Tomlin with strong bats?

If Michael Morse bats today versus Kershaw I think that could be a sneaky play at 1500.

The Giant players are priced like this for a reason……sort of like PENNY STOCKS!!!…Buyer BeWare

McCullers with Gattis, Gurriel and Marisnek

That’s 3 houston bats. Not allowed.

At least in the Arcade McCullers is so highly priced it makes a roster hard

  • murphstahoe

Probable overlay in DK $1 solo shot early.

I was referring to normal FD GPP.

This may be the chalkiest main slate all season. Very few good pitchers to choose from, and all cubs stacks.

It all comes down to who gets that 1 off play that double dongs.

  • jasonresno

have no idea how to read this early slate. ended up going McCullers and piling on Zona/Tampa studs w/ Posey to keep salary down. Sounds so weird saying that.

edit: McCullers is 53% in my early slate GPP. WELLP.

But Feldman is the Ace of the Red’s staff, he is going to mow them down…….

    878 entries at $1 a piece for a 1k tourney.

Obviously my EV for equal skill is like 12 cents, but this whole thing is mostly a thought experiment anyway, n’est pas?

I did note that it went from 700 entries to 878 in the last 30 seconds, I would not be shocked if script kiddies sniff these out and throw in entries.

I threw in 1 when you mentioned it, was just playing the QA and that was it but for overlay and 1.00 why not.

    ugh

McCullers 55% owned on FD early Grand Slam.

Knew it would be a lot, but not that high.

Now I wish I went Kershaw

  • murphstahoe

Tomlin K’s the side. No Tomlin no cash. Oops I have Cobb

Tomlin is a nibbler always has been, so if the Ump is giving certain spots he is in for a good day. Also keep in mind him and Bauer are fighting for that 5th spot in the rotation when Kluber comes back, no way they can send Clevinger down as he has put up better starts(minus walks, which can be fixed).

  • bigsmoot2

Wow, Indians not as high owned as I though on FD, did not think McCullers would be at 53%, glad I tried a Kershaw and Cueto lineup as well.

Tomlin gets hit harder by righties, so I tried some of the Rays righties as well, we shall see.

  • bigsmoot2

These early slates that are so spread out make it harder, when you don´t know the lineups for those two later games. Makes it kinda tough IMO.

With the Giants at 1500 per, people spent up for the aces, and took a lot of Giants?

It’s definitely tricky – what to do about David Peralta? He pinch hit last night…

  • CJtheGrump

On DK, I might have painted myself into a corner since the 3:00 games haven’t posted their lineups yet.

  • murphstahoe

LOL McCullers beans two in the first. Throw that bum out!
