I’m fairly certain the Tigers will be heavily owned tonight – Miggy is a must-own in cash games. I won’t be fading him in most of my GPP rosters.

    Not much choice for pitchers…

  • notfast1

Wouldn’t it be legal to have a contest that is both games of a double header? Might be an interesting option if it existed.

Its time for the angels bats to wake up

  • Wrightime

On experts picks JMToWin is picking farmer , i just cant do it not a rookie and kluber also going tonight ..

  • Wrightime

on a short slate tonight taking risks esp with a rookie on the road agansit a lineup that includes trout pujols etc.. is not for me

  • ayudame

I putting out a few LU’s with Farmer… amazing cap relief, high upside if he does even mediocre.

  • Wrightime

in gpp hes worth a shot wouldnt go near him in cash.. i have lineups with kluber in them and am liking it no need for me to take a shot on farmer ..my cheap sp on fd is going to be heston for sure at home agansit braves

  • tin8shusd

Angels have not hit right-handers well all year and Farmer has been pitching very well – I think Heston and Farmer make great 2nd pitchers for DK GPPs.

Big Tigers fan here. Miggy was dreadful against Oakland this past week, and sat out his first game of the season on Monday which makes me weary of him tonight. We all know Miggy can be Miggy, but if you watched any of yesterday’s game, it was the worst I’ve seen him all season. He struck out 3 times and I wonder if it’s the west coast trip or something that is up with him. Plus, we all know Miggy’s past, and he was at the Warriors game last night….who knows how late of a night it was for the big man.

Farmer has pitched great at Toledo so far this season, and had a few starts last year in the show. He’s definitely worth a shot tonight, especially with how bad the Angels are against RHP. if he can contain Trout, there’s not much else to fear in the Angels lineup.

That is a great argument TO DO IT. Short slates mean high ownership percentages, so picking a pitcher that most people will be avoiding could sky rocket a contrarian lineup to the top.

  • 8MileAllstars

Heston seems like a pretty safe cheap punt play at SP.

On FD, I noticed 2 interesting things: 1. If you play the All Day slate and roll with Tyler Wilson at $3K as your SP, you can essentially play anyone you want at the other positions, and; 2. Somehow Dixon Machado is the most expensive SS at $3K. WTF?

I agree… it is the time to take a risk when most will own AJ/Kluber/Heston/Miller … Farmer would be under 10% owned and if he points up 20 points then your high level bats should be able to help make a run… and hell what if one of the top dogs gets shelled tonight… then it’s a run away.

  • z4willy

Sabathia could be worth a shot too. Going home to the bay area to pitch. A’s were 0-21 with RISP the last two games of the series against Detroit and have been dreadful all season. They now have the worst record in the majors.

He could do well, but I wouldn’t say he is a must own tonight. Mainly because I have Seager and ARod rated pretty high at third and Ortiz rated fairly well at 1B – could provide a little salary flexibility.

In gpp i agree .. I was talking more about cash games . My mistake i didnt note that

  • Wrightime

Also looking at tonight i dont see many high price bats that are a no brainer to a point where you have to take a cheap sp even in a gpp .im filling out lineups with kluber and still have plenty of stud hitters . I think on a full slate taking a shot with farmer would pay off more .. But hey thats just me ..

Can anyone tell me why the Red Sox are favorites to win tonight at -110? They have been playing awful, Texas has been on fire (besides yesterday), the game is in Texas, and the Sox are putting out a Rookie pitcher. JMtoWin who I respect and follow more than anyone has Eduardo Rodriguez as a potential good play tonight and I might bite just on the line alone.

    Two words. Nick martinez

  • dpadilla

When I first looked at Farmer’s numbers, I thought he would be a good pitcher to stack against, but when I saw JMtowin pick him this morning I thought I would see what kind of lineup I could build with him as a starter, and it’s pretty ridiculous. Brandon Crawford is my least expensive hitter, so I think I’ll play a low stakes GPP and see what happens. If Farmer can get me 10 points, that may well be enough to cash.

  • Wrightime

Nick martinez has pitched very well and coming off shutting yanks down who have hit the ball very well . He will come down to earth for sure but right now hes getting job done

Farmer is more of a #2 SP for sites like draftkings with two pitchers. And I agree with Ya on rolling with him in a big slate if it was fanduel.

  • mackwoods11

For fanduel… Anyone targeting a 4,000+ OF? I don’t mind Cruz as a contrarian play.
