There is something seriously wrong with relief pitching in MLB right now. And since starters exit games earlier now, that becomes a problem.

Was it yesterday when the Red Sox nearly coughed up something like a 6 run lead against the Jays?

More runs are being scored in general. Every slate has multiple games with totals over 10. Couple years ago 10 totals were reserved for Coors only and maybe some mid August Rangers games. Coors now checking in at 13 and 14 on the regular. It is what it is. Can’t complain though, this DFS season has been decent for me 🤷‍♂️

seems to be working fine against my hitters

Well time to start playing online poker…MLB is just garbage.

Rockies are fatigued big time from overexertion against the Reds. They didn’t get enough rest for the Sunday game, and yet still played well again. But that really came with a price tag.

And the Giants are on a run.

Yes, Navarez my Captain in Showdown. Too bad it’s the .25

There’s something seriously wrong with pitching period. I don’t see how mlb thinks 900 homers and strikeouts a night is a good thing.

Looking ahead to tomorrow and I’d like to thank DK for pricing up Robbie Ray because no one wants chalk Ray in Texas

This is true, but the bullpen has been especially bad. In the steroid era there were more good set up men that reliably cleaned up innings set the stage for closers. Starters go 6,7 innings, middle relief eats up 2 innings, and the closer finishes it.

The middle relief in MLB is probably overworked now. The rotation is part of the problem too, because there aren’t many end of the rotation guys who eats up innings.

Right? and left how much on the table? The Sparkman thing hurts a bit, because he’s going to end up with over 40 DK points, but the expensive pitchers you’d pair him with all underwhelmed. Coors is underwhelming. Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t even end up in the top line ups.

EDIT: OK, looking now I guess he is in the top line ups. I guess I just didn’t pick the right expensive bats. Have Coors, Nats, Dodgers. Faded Flaherty, because I just wasn’t buying it, but I guess I was wrong. Have no Brewers either, which seems to be at the top now with Nats.

Good calls, yet unfortunately those plays tonight are likely going for naught. On DK I’d guess if you stacked Miami, you were probably looking at a Buheler Lynn combo or at least 1. Maybe Yamamoto as well.

And if you played Sparkman, might have been to fit in a Rockies/Giants stack.

Unless you were leaving like 5k+ in salary on the table unlikely either of those plays resulted in big paydays.

Always seems to work that way. I remember early in the season when I nailed like 2 under 6k pitchers and then some offense, I think it was the Rockies or maybe the Dodgers did squat against some gas can in a game with a massive total where they were huge favorites. 🤷‍♂️

    That is exactly right.
That’s why I changed my single entry in rundown and the $555 right before lock and took out most Coors exposure and did a Flaherty/Sparkman 2-2-2-2 HOU-MIL-WAS-SF… saved my night and maybe more.

The lineups in the $15… not so much

Went back and forth Dickerson/Alvarez in that lineup
Didn’t want 3 SF bats and didn’t like the possible swaps for Belt
    Hopefully Alvarez will come through

Mr. Sparkman was touted in here today and at least on YAHOO he got 0 love. Wish I’d rostered him in every LU..oh well, a little cash is betta than no cash.

    Player FPPG PIR Points
    2% Glenn Sparkman
    CWS 0 @ KC 11, Final
    W, 9.0 IP, 8 K, BB, 5 H, 116 PC

Had the highest score of any player today, imagine that!

  • depalma13

Just play the top home run hitters and the two pitchers you can fit in the lineup. It seems to cash every night now.

cheese sucked me into using Buehler

should’ve stuck with Sparkman for the cheap pitching

I never learn that paying 10k for a pitcher on DK is rarely wise

Buehler over Sparkman decision wound up costing me about $55.50 in tickets

    could’ve been worse
