MLB is by far my most favorite daily fantasy sport to play. My question is can you profit playing 50/50’s and head to heads? It seems like it would be very hard to win 58% or more of your contests. I would love to grind all season, but there is so much information out there it seems like its hard to gain an edge. Am I better off just multi entering GPP’s and hoping for a big score?

Ive made a profit in a cash game before.

I’ve profited all but one slate this season in cash games. So yes, you can absolutely be very profitable in cash games.

I definitely have better ROI in most other game types than 50/50s. I still play a tiny % in them to track if that changes, and also to see an overview of ownership since I’m going up against a lot of those same lineups in my leagues.

So which types of games are you doing the best in?

I’ve moved all of my H2H action to Fantasy Draft. They are rake free over there.

whats the difference between fantasy draft and draft?

Do you get anyone taking your games? Whenever I go to the lobby I don’t see many h2h games there.

Of course… You won’t see as many as FD or DK but there are still a lot of games to pick from.

I just looked in the lobby and there are 30 H2H games between 1-2 dollars at the moment.

What the heck?!?!?!! When I look they all say 0/2 in the 0-$5 range. I see a couple 1/2

Thoughts on 20 vs 100 person leagues on FD?

Pretty simple to join a contest. You don’t have to wait till someone else has already entered.

Gotcha. Do you have different people pick you contests or all the same guys?

I play cash games mostly and I admit I am not cashing in them as frequently as I think I should. I have an easier time early in the season, whichever sport I happen to be playing.

I like baseball cash games because you don’t have to be perfect like in NBA. It’s just that the hitters sometimes don’t show up at all.

  • FanBallAddict

I have profited on cash games. Like anything else in life you need to put in the time for research. Good commentary from others on this forum as well.

I have profited on all my cash games since the start of the season up until last night.. MLB Variance finally introduced itself to me

  • Njsum1

Baseball is one of the best sports for cash games and worst sports for tournaments, if you only make a few lineups per night, and are a solid player.

i would say u have already been introduced to mlb variance if you won every single night for 2 weeks. just positive variance :)

In cash its all about the SP, as if your SP nabs 45-60 you have a decent shot to finish in the top 50% in 50/50’s,,,,ran with syndergaard (46 pts), sale (67pts) and Kluber (64 pts) the last 3 days, hitting was tepid in all lineups but finished in the 35-45 range (out of 100) in all which was just was good enough

Are we sure paying up for pitchers on DK is the way to go in cash games?

No we’re not. And I bet you can’t convince me that paying up for SP is the best way to go all or most of the time.
