Noticed DK has games for today. Tried researching but not getting a lot of info. Going to try and focus on young guys trying to make impacts like the rookie Alonzo for the Mets competing with Smith for 1st base.

  • D4RKSH33P

Yeah I was doing just enough cheap in NHL and NBA while football was around to get the achievements. Made the attempt at ramping up research and stakes for basketball just to see what it was like. Ended up getting frustrated with how many nights I had guys that scored “Fire” numbers and still didn’t come close to cashing in double ups.

I don’t know the exact rules, but I believe that with all pitchers going such a short amount, the official scorer gets to award the win to whoever was the pitcher of note or something like that.

  • RudyPujols

Well I don’t know I ST is different but the the official scorer awards the win to the most effective non-starter when the starter doesn’t go 5 in regular season. That also applies in bullpen games like the Rays did. Starter is ineligible for a win if he doesn’t go 5. Period. If ST has different rules, that’s news to me but quite possible.

I had nick hundley at 0.16% but it wasn’t enough. Poo

You needed some Cubs and Reds starters for sure yesterday. I was on the Reds vs what was last year a terrible relief staff of the White Sox, but the Cubs lineup looks so anemic I didn’t touch it much.

Here is today’s blog. Not able to post line ups today due to work. If anyone was feeling helpful they could post them in the comments?

Hopefully it wasn’t the Touki Toussant and J.A. Happ combo I ended up on. Ouch.

Blog is up for today! https://rotogrinders.com/blog-posts/in-the-field-spring-training-3-1-19-2940155

I feel like if you can identify the pitchers who are going to go 3 innings today, you will have an advantage. I put up a list of the guys in my blog who went 3 innings yesterday if anyone sees any common theme there.

I should have time to update things today with lineups and notes.

I am also open to suggestions on the format. Does it make sense to break it down as I have been?

One more edit since no one else is posting here: I am adding links to pictures of the line ups that beat writers are posting on twitter. These sometimes show extra players to target as subs.

Thanks so much for the info. I’ve been swamped the last couple mornings and hadn’t had time to do any research so these help a lot.

Glad to hear it, all I ask is for some thumbs up and comments on the blogs to help me with the blogger of the month stuff.

You’re right. I didn’t notice it, but Flynn is the name on the picture from twitter. https://twitter.com/LWorthySports/status/1101500790240243713

I still like the Angels today, but I wonder if there is leverage in Flynn.

I dont like any of the pitchers to be honest but i have 2 pick 2 of them so Robbie Ray would be one but who is the 2nd?

Rockies pitched their starter 3 innings yesterday so I am thinking about John Gray. The Brewer’s lineup is very prospect heavy today so I am also thinking about Justus Sheffield who had a decent 2 inning outing last time (Huuuuuge sample size, I know).

  • icemanyeee

who you guys like at 3rd?

  • thewinners

The over/under on the Colorado/Oakland game is 12o so i dont like any pitchers in that game. But the over/unders in all the games on dk are high

  • thewinners

    col/oak 12o cubs/dbacks 10u kcr/laa 12u and mil/sea 10and a half 0

I get it, but I am mostly looking for opportunity so if I think a guy is going to get 3 innings, that gives him 33% to 66% higher of a chance to get strike outs than the majority of pitchers.

  • thewinners

What pitchers do you think will get 3 innings? I’m playing on dk and just a $ 10 dollar double up and a $ 2 maybe 3 dollar tournment. I’m pretty much a newbie so i dont wanna spend to much since i’m poor…lol

  • thewinners

www.mlb.com/starting-lineups still has Arnaldo Hernandez as the starter for Kansas City? You think they would of updated it by now since i’ve known for over 1 hour that it will be Brian Flynn

  • icemanyeee

    https://www.baseballpress.com/lineups

best site for ST lineups which has had flynn as the starter all day

I honestly don’t want to give an opinion, which is why most of my blog has been just straight facts. I play a few quarter and dollar line ups so I don’t feel confident telling anyone how to spend their money.

But If you had to pin me down, I would say I like Jon Gray to go 3 because it is his second start and the rockies let their starter go 3 yesterday. Other than that Robbie Ray seems like he could do 3 but he only did 1 and a third his first outing.

  • Jaws1002

D4rk great insight today with the innings. I had Gray and Sheffield and wound up in 134th place in the DK 10k extra inning, doubling my money.

  • RudyPujols

I threw in a lineup with Gray, Ray, Zagunis, Haniger, Mondesi, Hernan Perez, Caritini, and Olson. Too busy sweating the PGA cutline to get it in the guaranteed on time, entered the alternate option that came up, and DK canceled it. Sheesh.
