Most of the games have just some light rain in the forecast, and we can play through that:
KC at CLE, CWS at BAL, and TB at NYY, in all cases, we have some very spotty light showers, but nothing that will impact play. These games are GREEN as far as weather is concerned.
CWS @ BAL – We have more than just weather issues here, as riots related to the Freddie Gray tragedy may cause a city-wide curfew to be imposed tonight. It seems like gathering tens of thousands of people in one place where riots are ongoing is not the smartest idea, wouldn’t be surprised to see this game bumped.
TOR @ BOS – Light rain again, but lots more of it. These have been lingering showers, but they appear to finally be winding down, as I see some clearing on the way. If we see more redevelopment upstream, it would still be of the light rain variety, but there’s no telling how long it could last. Right now the current clearing, combined with the nature of the rain has me more optimistic than I was 30 minutes ago, I have this as straight YELLOW. Best guess here is a brief late start or a “lets get a bit wet and play ball anyways”.
SEA @ TEX – Here’s a spot that been giving me forecast fits for days. The Dallas/Fort Worth MetroPlex (Arlington included) has seen round after round of storms, and tonight will be no exception. It’s currently a very slow moving thin line of t-storms that will slide through the area likely before or around first pitch. My concern is that our little narrow line starts to widen out a bit, causing a lengthy delay. Because we are talking t-storms here, I’m more worried about this game than the Boston game. I’ll start this at YELLOW/ ORANGE, and likely adjust it one way or the other as we get closer to first pitch.
That’s all for now, some fairly windy games, but nothing blowing prominently out or in, so it didn’t seem worth the mention.
As always (and especially today), this is just a forecast, things can and will change tonight.
