UPDATED 6:40 EASTERN: Increasingly worried about rain chances in NY, *YELLOW / ORANGE.*

Doesn’t look like any huge concerns, but it’s not quite perfect.

MIA @ NYM – Any of the heavier rain will hold off until well after midnight… but there is one plume of moisture out ahead of the main line that is bringing some lighter showers very near to NY currently. Forecast models essentially treat this like it doesn’t exist, which means they have no idea how to handle what it could do in the next few hours. I’m not overly concerned, because it is fairly light, but it’s definitely worth noting and watching. YELLOW / ORANGE . Winds from the south at 15-20mph, with stronger gusts, that’s blowing right to left across the field.

ATL @ WASH – Rain should hold off until after the game. GREEN . Winds SSW at 10-15mph, gusts 25, blowing out to straight center, slight bump to hitters.

CIN @ CHC – Cold, which isn’t great for hitters, but feels-like temps stay above freezing during game hours, so I don’t think they are going to randomly decide to cancel it on us. Winds NW at 10-15mph, blowing across the field, no help to hitters or pitchers.

That’s it for now, be sure to keep an eye on twitter (@KevinRothWx) and back here for any updates.

    Happy Grinding,
    Kevin

Hey Kevin, i see no color for the CWS @ MIN game. I’m assuming those hardened northerners from Minn and Chicago can handle the Upper 30s.

Yeah I just kind of assumed with zero precip they will go ahead and play. Guess I should have marked it green, not used to having to color-code games due to temps :/

Likely green. Should be rain free but it’s cold and gusty winds.

Are those winds in BAL@BOS enough for you to declare a boost to hitters? You normally throw that sentence in there when there’s strong winds like that, and the lawyer in me reads that report without the sentence as “Well that means it’s not a boost, since he doesn’t say there is one like he normally does”.

Lol, yes it’s likely a bit of a boost. Squeezed this in between weatherman job and adjunct professor job and was just trying to keep it brief. :)

Interviewing and Performance: it’s basically a class teaching the basics about how to be in the TV biz without making a fool of yourself on camera.

Thx – sorry I missed that.

Just fade anything forecasted the KOD YELLOW/ORANGE. Do we need anymore reasons to stop the insanity? It’s been a landmine this first week of the season.
