What’s up everybody! Baseball season is fast approaching and we’re putting the finishing touches on our MLB team; we have roles available with the RG Lineups App (DFS Alerts), MLB Projections and our Lineups Page. These are part-time roles that can help you get your foot in the door of a growing company. You can also earn some cash in the process.
We’re looking for multiple people to fill the roles below, so not being available at all hours of the day is not a problem. We will be willing to work around schedules to a certain extent, but will be looking mainly for writers who are available during “crunch” DFS hours (4-7 PM ET). We’ll be filling out a schedule that runs roughly from 10AM-10PM each day, so availability before and after crunch time is also a plus.
MLB News Writer – This role is dependent upon you being able to react quickly to news and create strong blurbs with a DFS spin. Note that at times this may take priority over updating your DFS Lineups. We’re looking for people who can be around a computer for the entirety of their shift – this is not a role you can take on if you’d have to do it remotely or on the go. Having a decent Twitter presence is also a plus here given that a large majority of player news is broken there. Our goal here is to be both quick and accurate when it comes to breaking news regarding starting lineups, lineup upgrades (e.g. a bench player filling in as the leadoff hitter) and general DFS MLB strategy. Prior writing experience is a huge plus.
MLB Projections – There are a few roles available here. We’ll have an “uploader” who will be tasked with posting our projections each night for the following day. That process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours, and it’s typically done between 8 PM ET and 2 AM ET. We’ll also have a projections editor who is in charge of adjusting projections based on player news – when lineups are released each day, you’ll be removing any players who aren’t in the lineup and adding any that weren’t already in our projections file for that day. You’ll also be adjusting player projections based on batting order, weather and a few other factors.
MLB Projected Lineups – We added this particular tool late last season, but we’re basically attempting to predict each team’s lineup the night before. This is done between 7 PM ET and 12 AM ET each night, and we have few tools that can help to simplify this process.
If you are interested in any of the above roles, email firstname.lastname@example.org. — In all applications, please be sure to include the following:
1. Your availability in terms of days/hours that you could be by a computer. Weekend availability is a plus.
2. List of any prior writing experience
3. Background as a DFS Grinder/Player (how long have you been playing, what sports do you excel at, etc.)
4. Your RotoGrinders Username
5. Your Twitter Handle (if applicable)
6. 2-3 sentences on why you’d be a good fit for the role you’re applying for
I’ll leave this posting up through the rest of the week, and will begin responding to applicants later this week. Feel free to comment below or PM me if you have any questions.
