Tonight I feel like I’ve put up a decent team and I am in the top 50% of a number of cash pools at the moment (particularly the earlier entries). The problem is I am trailing in most of my later entries that I entered in the afternoon. Normally I would just think I happen to be getting beat by more than 50% of the pool and they are making slightly better choices. However, here is the issue. I am seeing 20+ teams in many cases in a 100 entry pool or 10+ teams in a 50 entry pool with exactly the same team. There is no way this is by fluke and I think it is a bunch of BS. Many writers on rotogrinders provide excellent advice on recommended players but they don’t usually give an exact lineup they recommend. So how is it that you end up with so many teams that are exactly the same when there is an 8 game slate? Seems like someone is telling people their exact lineup for a fee and I really don’t think this is fair at all. If I take the time to make an informed lineup and not copy someones exact lineup, I shouldn’t be penalized for making my own decision instead of being a sheep. I really think this is ruining the integrity of daily sports and I am hoping I don’t run into it as much in the future as I have tonight. Has anybody else noticed this?

In a 100 entry 50/50 tonight on FanDuel nearly a quarter of the entries were one of three multiply entered lineups.
    2 cashed, one didn’t.

FWIW I cashed so my irritation doesn’t stem from losing. Maybe I’ve failed to notice this in the past, but this issue really seems to plague FanDuel and Hockey specifically.
My hypothesis at this point is that it’s largely players with other areas of expertise, but they want to gamble and they want to get in on the NHL action and they do so by taking a shortcut.

This is a correct assumption. Ironically, forum threads like this one actually make the problem worse. People who play other sports see threads like this. The threads always seem to be about this guy who’s lineup is in the top 10%. Or, this guy is always winning.

People that read the threads end up searching out the lineup seller and join in on the fun. That’s the reason RG doesn’t allow people in this thread to name names. You’d be shocked if you knew how many people are sending PMs trying to find out where they can get these lineups.
