I wanted to start a new thread regarding this because it raises a different issue than the previously related thread. You can find the initial thread here:

    LATEST UPDATE

I have been accused of cheating. Here is the latest email form FD.

    “Thank you for your patience.
Upon review of the account, it has come to our attention that you have been involved in the fixing of contests with bogus accounts to inherit winnings, which is an explicit violation of our Terms of Use policies. For that reason, your account will be closed. I have temporarily reopened your account in order to allow for you to withdraw your remaining balance.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.”

I have never done anything REMOTELY close to cheating. I’m sure this was an oversight. I’m sure there were many things that could have flagged my account….and I requested someone contact me via email or phone asap to clear this up. I did however, want to withdraw my funds just in case. I went to my account … and in doing so noticed that they had also removed my pending tickets. (I had a couple tickets for the Sunday Million I won the other night). They were gone. So now they’re kicking me out….not offering me a chance to clear up any suspicions that they may have (which I absolutely 10000% can clear up without any hint of suspicious activity) and STEALING from me to boot.

Please note: this is NOT about the $50, or the money in lost winning from last night…..the money is the money….this is the principle and bad business practices I want to address. Oh, and just in case you had suspicions about my entries and my lineup….here is a link to a cancelled lineup used in every entry….one of the handful of entries they cancelled….
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-M2xt18jhSpSFE2OXQ0X3FuZG8/view?usp=sharing

At this point I had to contact an attorney friend of mine…..juuuuust in case it becomes necessary. The LAST thing I EVER want to do. Ugh.

I emailed ‘support’ and asked, no PLEADED, with someone to contact me asap to clear this up. And this was the reply.

“As previously stated, your account has been temporarily reopened in order for you to withdraw the remaining balance.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.”

Huh??? Did you even READ my email, robot support guy?

So I followed up with another request to be contacted…..I said I will gladly take my business elsewhere as it is apparent that you dont want me as a customer. But I am not leaving without my money. So please let me know what is going to happen regarding the tickets you stole from me.

    I received this response.
    “Hi,
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to credit your account with that money. Your account will remain open for another 24 hours after which point it will be permanently closed.”

I have no idea what to do at this point. I downloaded my history, took screenshots, saved all the correspondence Ive ever had with them….all of which is headed to my buddy attorney’s desk. All they had to do was contact me to clear this up….but this is how they handle it.

Surprised nobody has asked why 3 players would even want to enter the same 3 man and be a bannable offense. Just got it. Player A signs up then refers his 2 friends. All 3 are getting deposit bonus. They play each other in a $100 3 person. $10 goes to rake, but they each clear $4 of deposit bonus + referal bonus, so FD loses $2+ per contest. Shocking that FD brings the hammer down on this type of collusion that hurts their bottom line, but not the multi-accounting/lineup sharing that hurts other players but helps FD’s bottom line.

You wearing a tinfoil hat now? Say it ain’t so!

no, those things are so friggan itchy. I was only saying that IF they thought he was cheating it was a somewhat logical response. it doesnt sounds like he was though

the one guy sited an example where a guy was “losing” his profits to a friend in canada to not have to pay taxes. 10% rake still better than 30% taxes. Another possibility is reshuffling or earnings by friends (with truing up outside the site) to try to limit tax exposure (ie: if one of the friends had a losing year, just shift winnings over to him up to the point of his winnings)

this seems odd, def keep the thread updated.

so basically, because you beat two suspected cheaters you must be cheating better than they are. (kind of like Paul Newman in the Sting) .
    l
Yes please keep this thread updated. This seems very alarming.

  • detroittigers44

That is interesting.. The other night I played a FanDuel lineup with Durant, AD, Avery Bradley, and Andrew Wiggins… After the first three all left with injuries and Wiggins was scratched, I figured it was Fanduel that was cheating and I got the shaft….

    Kidding of course…

Let us know how this gets resolved.

    LATEST UPDATE
Received this email from FD support today:

“Thank you for all of your cooperation and information that you’ve provided. After reviewing everything, we’ve decided to reopen your account for immediate use, since it has become clear that you are not associated with the other two accounts in the contest in question. I hope you realize that we have these procedures in place to protect our users and our business, so it’s important that we take every precaution when he see something like this happen. However, I’m happy that we were able to get to the bottom of this and end up with the correct outcome.
Your two Sunday Million tickets have been credited back to your account, and I have also credited you with 48,000 FanDuel Points. My manager should be reaching out by phone at some point soon if that is something that you are still interested in.”

I’m glad they got around to doing this today. I did request that a manager contact me because I want further details. 48k FD points is pretty comical imo. However, I wasn’t expecting much from them knowing their track record in regards to admitting fault.

I will update again when I speak with a manager. If you guys think there is anything specific I should ask….I’d be happy to do so and report back.

Bottom line…they got it right in the end. They certainly didn’t make up for all that was lost on my end. Furthermore, without my pleads and incessant emails…this wouldn’t even have been re-considered. So thats not very reassuring. But at least it’s been resolved. Not the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had.

See what happens when you win! Now quit cheating and start losing like a respectable DFS player and you wont have these problems.

Maybe that was the inconsistency, I lose all year round until NBA starts. “This guy won a contest? Delve into this further please”

good to hear they got it right. also glad to see they gave you back all your tickets as well as an extra $20 (tho ill bet you spent more than $20 worth of your time lol).

seems like the take away is to be cordial (seems like you had better responses to your less aggressive emails) and to be super persistent (which is annoying) if you want to get anything done with support.

    Busted!

Seriously though at least they got it right. Do you have any sense of if this is what caused your initial account lock or if this only came up after the verification request?

  • thechukler

The verification process had nothing to do with my initial unsubstantiated and untimely suspension. My account was suspended (and those entries were cancelled) due to the alleged cheating.

It was only when I had contacted FD to inquire about my suspension that they said “we will look in to this…in the meantime, please do this verification….”

Yes, that what i was thinking.

The only reason I can come up with would be money laundering.
