    Hey Fellow Grinders ,

I am a bit new to the NHL DFS world but it was going quite well once I first started , I have not changed anything at all , doing all my research , asking the questions and building my lineups as per normal. I usually play about 50- 70 $ bucks a night which is what I can afford , I just want to avoid re-depositing and needing to start all over. I am on a 7 night losing streak and I cant seem to turn this around , any advice to break through this slump ? should I take a break ? I m always about 3 points from the money and play about 80% double ups and 20% GPP. I am really following my bankroll management rules but I can’t seem to get through this thing… I am still in my profit but it has been a decent hit over the last few weeks.

    Thanks guys!

if you feel your process is good and it sounds like it is, just keep doing what you are doing. These slumps happen to everyone and it wont be your last.

If you feel like taking a break, sure do it but i wouldn’t let the slump dictate that necessarily. There are nights when I don’t like the slate and the lineups don’t feel right so I don’t play just for the sake of playing.

    Good luck.

Variance in NHL is king! It’s going to happen to best of us. How many lineups are you running? Depending on the answer and what each lineup has been doing you might want to move a little more over to GPPs. I’m not a cash player often myself in NHL but if you’re missing cash game lines by few you might be better playing GPPs making some pivots for higher ceiling lower floor guys. I would recommend checking out smaller leagues as well. The ones over like 10-15 people don’t always fill. I wouldn’t make radical changes or anything like that though. Good luck and hopefully things turn around for you starting with tonight!

This year is my 3rd playing fantasy hockey and I’ve also gotten off to a horrible start. I did very well my first and especially last season so it’s a bit frustrating. That said I’m pretty sure it’s variance and I’m not to worried. The same thing happened to me the first month of this mlb season but once May started I never looked back. I went on a very good run for pretty much the whole season and had my best year by far.

Thanks for the feedback Guys! I run about 4-5 Lineups a night , will def takes all this advice! Let’s hope it gets goin tonight again!

Don’t play NHL but I’ve gone on several runs in other sports. I was down to like $19 in my FD account and super frustrating with the process and hit a 6k win a couple years ago. Pulled some out, lost a few more grand and then binked 20k like a year later. I’m primarily a GPP player so my swings are extreme but my advice is take a few days off and just watch the slates then hop back in. I think you’re doing the smart thing by putting your action more on dub ups and sticking to it, I’m trying to get more cash heavy but I can’t help but chase some GPPs.

I had a horrible start to MLB as well. Took 2 weeks off in may to recharge(vacationed in non-dfs area) and came back and ended up with a decent MLB season overall. Moral of the story sometimes its good to just take a small break.

Ups and downs are the reason bankroll management is preached. easy to tell you to trust your process. I play hockey essentially nightly and it is a high variance sport. I will say that I recently revisited the model I use. Scoring is up this year, and it caught me off guard to start the season. For almost two weeks stright…the largest favorite each night lost..which is usually the Cash Goalie to play…

Evaluate your process to make sure you arent trying to change for the sake of change, trust it and results will follow.

Send me a DM and/or pick up one of my H2H’s if you want me to see if I see something that might be a leak or create more volatility that you are intending.

Now puck off lol :) GLGL

I gotta get back to the basics too. I was doing so well getting 40s and 50s that i decided to bet more and i got lost in the process. So I’ll be returning to the quarter and dollar games to sharpen my game and when I’m ready I’ll return to the 5 dollar games. You can aslo study certain draft king players who you often see at the top. Watch them over the next few days and see if you notice any patterns. I haven’t broke the code yet but I’m getting close. This one guy strictly plays players who are on the first powerplay unit. He wins a lot.
