Looking at these practice sessions; is Truex sandbagging?

  • toasty99

Well I’m shocked at Austin Cindric’s ownership rate for this Xfinity race. He’s got the fastest car and is at 11 percent. His qualifying lap was so impressive I put him in lots of lineups just for that. You could literally see his car turning better than everyone else in 1 and 2. Looks like a nice payday if that works out for me…

What are everyone thoughts? Truex vs Harvick vs Busch or the field? Think Keselowski might be in a good spot.

Well… only Kyle Busch, Brad K, Matt Kenseth and Truex have ever won a race here. Only Brad K and Truex since the repave.

Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, and Kevin Harvick are the only other drivers since the track was put on the schedule to lead more than about 10-20 laps in a single race which is honestly amazing.

Strategy for this race is tough because it just depends if someone can go out and lead 100 laps or not to make up for the fact the top guys require you to have a Matt Tift or Ryan Preece level driver (or two) in your lineup.

Plus 18th through 22nd in qualifying is tough. Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Erik Jones, and Alex Bowman all start in that range and all could get top 5s or even win… but picking those guys prevents picking any dominators.

Newman the only one to fail tech so far with only a few cars left to go through.

    35th

  • xtarheelsx

I’m pretty sure his qualifying time is disallowed so he would be scored from the back. I could be wrong though…hopefully someone in here can clarify

  • BigRay

Yeah. I got free square Newman starting 35th.

Well Suarez is over owned. Not sure why that is. I figured 20 percent ownership for him.

I’m seeing double ups with 60 percent ownership for him! What??? Unless he wins or leads 50 laps that’s not gonna work.

I thought the same thing. Truex and Bowman kind of had me scratching my head looking at the times. I think Truex will be alright but not sure about Bowman this round. Great PD potential but does not seem like his car is dialed in and if he ends up in a wall PD will not matter.

37% Suarez on DK and 32% Bowman are going to be interesting to see for me. I am guessing people feel good about Suarez leading the 1st 40 laps with a fast car. I did not completely fade either one but I am not near as bullish as everyone else.

  • jt77316

I was really surprised with Suarez and Kes ownership.

  • Pinoy4lyfe89

    Wow. What a finish.

  • starstx

Great finish … I had some good lineups that fell apart late and no Busch bros combo.

Personally, I try not to pay attention to ownership, it’s all about knowing the race script and build. The cars nor the drivers don’t know how many lineups they’re drafted in… even if you play the ownership game to have an “edge” you still have to pick the right driver, then at that point you get back to just needing to know who’s going to be good. Suarez made since in regards to value. Fast car, and 7600 price tag at a track that’s hard to pass starting next to a teammate. He still came in at 6 fppk even after being down multiple laps and starting on the pole.
