Is this one of those tracks where i need to start everyone at the back and wait for the wrecks or one of those tracks where its hard to pass people and you need guys in the middle or front

Definitely don’t need to worry about place differential as much as you do targeting people that will run up front. That is, unless a lot of the top guys qualify poorly. The “start everyone at the back” strategy is really only viable at Daytona and Talladega.

Does anybody mess around with the truck series, and if so who should I be following on Twitter?

    Couple practice one notes….

Don’t pay attention to any practice speeds (for the weekend). All depends upon if you drafted and were you found yourself in the draft. In the back of draft, good, in front not so good.

    Qualifying should be wild.

Want to know what to expect on Sunday, watch the truck race tonight, 9pm est.

There’s a lot of variation in lap times. I track fall off using best lap vs last lap in practice just to get an idea of fall off on long runs where applicable and possible. Using that same chart for this practice it seems you can easily tell the drivers that hit their best lap while in a draft early in practice, and ended practice on single car runs or in runs with less cars. Some of the biggest notables.

    Ty Dillon
    Best Lap 30.29
    Last Lap 31.10
    Total “Fall Off” .8159

    Erik Jones
    Best Lap 30.22
    Last Lap 30.77
    Total “Fall Off” .548

    Kyle Busch
    Best Lap 30.10
    Last Lap 30.65
    Total “Fall Off” .5410

    Ryan Preece
    Best Lap 30.22
    Last Lap 30.49
    Total “Fall Off” .276

And this list goes on from there. I still think there’s some value in looking at times, but you can’t just look at rank/top speed as Cooper mentioned. You have to really pay attention as to when the best times occurred.

Don’t think group qualifying will continue through the end Of the season at races with this package.

Anyone playing the truck race? Kyle worth that 15k tag?

  • Dirtmini99

I’m not playing him at that price.

    Yeah, it’s pretty steep.

  • someclevername

I’m playing Anthony Alfredo cos of his name, so when his transmission falls out or his steering wheel falls off – remember me kindly. GL everyone in the truck race! Hope someone here wins big!

  • Toddalan2286

Think there’s going to be a lot of pushback. They used to do it in trucks, and now they don’t.

Gotcha, I already heard Newman voice his displeasure. Personally, I like it for DFS purposes.

Dfs will definitely be interesting. I’m worried this will increase the number of ties at the top though because there seems to be a lot of “good” plays for place differential. I do beleive the better cars will prevail in the race. (Similar to Atlanta) But obviously that hunch is based on zero evidence.

Possibly, but it also creates better opportunities to be contrarian. I also think it levels ownership.

Anyone know what happened to Hill?

Pretty sure Harvick and Ky Busch fall in the 40-55% owned range😜
