Harvick is a lock. Will lead at least 150 laps

  • Toddalan2286

My concern with picking a very high priced lap leader starting up front ie Harvick is the distribution of fast laps. From what we’ve seen so far the lead car doesn’t have fastest lap times as they would in last years package. Since fast laps are double those of leading laps that could hinder the value. This race last year Harvick led 214 laps and had 64 fast laps (that’s over 25% of the laps). Take away any place differential due to starting first, (and add on the risk of losing points) reduce the amount of fast laps, and take into consideration the reduced probability that he leads a big a chunk of the race because of expected closer racing. When you consider those things it becomes difficult to roster him at 12,500 when you have guys like Truex, Keselowski, Almirola, Kurt Busch, starting where we would typically look for value drivers with a racing package that will not only give them a high ceiling due to place diff. but the increased probability for getting fast laps. If the race plays out like qualifying did we could see those drivers and others get fast lap points and place diff. that could completely overshadow Harvick and reduce his value even if he leads the entire first stage.

Aside from those thoughts, if Harvick has a fast car, leads the first stage and gets shuffled back during a pit cycle, we could see him pick up those fast lap times then getting back to the front.

    Data Grinder

Pack racing as defined by 3 cars within 1.5 seconds of race lead, 3 cars 30 seconds back fighting to stay on lead lap, and the rest of the field lap+ down before caution with 15 to go…

Thankfully Reddick limped that pile of junk around for a couple laps at the end.

  • Toddalan2286

Shocked that Reddick was only 15% owned in the large tourney. That last wreck put it to me, but would consider 85% of the field beneficiaries of unfortunate circumstance there at the end. It’s going to be Bell and Reddick this year.

so why does FD have like $2.5k an $3k NASCAR drivers?

Is the strategy on FD to take one of the lowest guys and load up on top tier drivers?

The strategy on FanDuel is to play as many drivers as you can with a Driver Rating above 90.

So if I have 5 drivers that are 12th or higher in driver ratings is this good? Not all are 90 or above, but high 80’s and above. New to nascar, learning as I go.

  • marker0357

more like your avg of the drivers should be 85-90 I would say

3 studs 1 high upside and 2 scrubs hoping for some PD points..what can go wrong

  • RedStorm25

I’m having a tough time making lineups. I really have no idea what to expect today with the new package but if I had to make a prediction, I think we’ll see two dominators, with a lot of passing back in the pack. So I definitely see a lot of value in PD.

  • strassnerte

Down to a Stenhouse or Suarez choice. Leaning Suarez due to better PD potential. Any thoughts?

I tend to hold the line at 85 for as low as I will go (anything above 80 is still good), but if there is a driver below that, but above 80 and he fits price wise, I see no problem using him.

I will take a stab with someone lower than 80 for a flyer, but I know going in, it is not in my best interest.
