Just want to give dk props for making the piston 2x min cash this week while keeping a decent number up top to chase. The rest of the structure still isn’t great but progress I guess?

    FYI for this weekend…

This weekend is two-day Cup show with a Cup practice prior to truck qualifying and another Cup practice prior to truck race and then qualifying after truck race. Cars impounded & tech will occur Sunday morning. If u fail once, u lose your qualifying time & start at rear.

Good point. Thanks for pointing that out.

Any idea how draftkings will be doing starting positions if someone gets a penalty?

It seemed inconsistent at best last year and it was really hard to figure out what drivers would get placed to rear for purposes of place differential.

    DK was consistent last year……

If you fail tech once you lose your qualifying time meaning you get a zero. This means you go to the rear and with no qualifying time that is were you are scored from.

If you do anything to your car outside of tech you will go to the rear and be scored from your qualifying position.

Follow bob pockrass or Jeff Gluck. They will update who pass/fail as it happens. This process typically starts around 8am.

William Byron has failed tech. Will start and be scored from rear. The other T7 drivers have passed.

  • gvn2fly1421

So will Fanduel change his starting position and he will get points as if he starts from the back? If they do that, that would make him a good play right?

So he will be scored as if he qualified last? Is this something new?

This is not new, but it does change everything.

So if the failure happens in tech then that is what causes this to happen, and any other time they are scored from their original spot?

correct. it is as if they never qualified

So if the failure happens in tech then that is what causes this to happen, and any other time they are scored from their original spot?

It has been the same way every year. For the impound races, if a driver fails tech their time is disallowed, NASCAR views it as if they effectively didn’t run a qualifying lap and their official starting position is from the rear.

This is different than an engine change or something after official order is set. Official qualifying order for this race was not set until after tech this morning.

Personally, I don’t like how NASCAR does this, but the rules have always been consistent.

  • gvn2fly1421

So, will FD change the starting position? This is something I can totally see FD dropping the ball on.

  • joephoto

So for us, on DK, William Byron is scored as starting from the end ?

  • Luctyl99

Wow they finally changed the 10$ contest on DK to have a min. cash of 2X. Something finally good that they have done!

Byron 35th and Kennington 36th…don’t be afraid to play Kennington.

  • Jdg0201

on FD is he scored from 6th or 35th?

Very difficult to jam Joey and Kyle in there on DK this week.

    3. Joey Logano ($11,300) – Last season’s win at Martinsville left a salty taste in the mouths of many. Truex may finally cash in on his promise of payback, so Logano is a scary pick, but revenge aside,

    https://www.draftkings.com/playbook/nas/2019-nascar-fantasy-driver-rankings-stp-500-martinsville

This is Logano’s seventh front row start at Martinsville, and looking at his laps led over the last six, he has: 59, 21, 21, 207, 108, and 60. Four of those six wouldn’t get Joey into the winning lineup this weekend, and the #22 Ford isn’t good enough to lead 200+.

Looks like Burton also failed….don’t be afraid to play him either.
