    Don’t think they had any other choice but to do this because cars have not been inspected yet. If they locked today and then say Truex, Busch, or Keselowski fail inspection tomorrow morning and go to rear NASCAR DFS community would be in rage. Any idea what time inspection starts tomorrow?

    If they failed inspection they wouldn’t go to the rear. If they failed inspection they’re qualifying time would have been disallowed, there was no qualifying. A lot of cars are through tech already according to a few people on twitter.

    Thanks, so what would be the race penalty if someone were to fail inspection tomorrow?

    Would be just like any other week if I’m reading correctly, would have to fail three times before anything happens to car chief. I did just read Gaulding is starting at the rear for failing three times, so who knows

    I work every other Sunday so such a bummer that race got cancelled. I guess I might get home to see finished tomorrow but my coworkers won’t be liking me listening the race at work tomorrow. :D

    Guess this means more family time today instead rolls eyes lol. Didn’t we have enough of that yesterday.

    That said, I will start to build lus now at 10. Get them done before day gets going.

    I appreciate anyone that takes the time to give out free information and opinions Some of the picks of the top 10 studs will work in cash but I can’t see them working out in GPPs. There will be 2 dominators in this race that will be in the winning GPP lineup. The other 4 spots will be place differential guys. The chances are very slim of the 9-17 starting position guys making a winning GPP lineup although I do like Stenhouse starting 17th. Out of the top 8, I almost completely faded Logano, Hamlin, Blaney and Harvick. Harvick will probably be a popular pick but he showed nothing in practices. That leaves you the same usual suspects for dominators with Truex, the Kyles and Keselowski and I only include Keso because he won me this race last year :). If you agree with that group, then you have to pick two. Average speeds in practices leave you with Truex and then a toss up between Busch and Keso. However I like Larson the most simply because of the chance for a few PD points.

    Since I currently have no real job and the kids will be in school, I think I will stay home and watch the race naked not that that was any of y’alls business. Good luck everyone and happy grinding.

    And since I post it every week, here was last year’s winning GPP LU, still not sire why I played Chase:

    #47 AJ Allmendinger 29.1% 500/500 30 6 24 Place Diff, 10 Fastest Laps, 1 6th 67
    #37 Chris Buescher 24.5% 500/500 33 11 22 Place Diff, 1 11th 55
    #18 Kyle Busch 50.7% 500/500 10 2 8 Place Diff, 274 Laps Led, 91 Fastest Laps, 1 2nd 164
    #3 Austin Dillon 19.5% 500/500 20 5 15 Place Diff, 9 Fastest Laps, 1 5th 58.5
    #9 Chase Elliott 15.9% 500/500 2 3 -1 Place Diff, 20 Laps Led, 38 Fastest Laps, 1 3rd 64
    #2 Brad Keselowski 32.8% 500/500 4 1 3 Place Diff, 116 Laps Led, 90 Fastest Laps, 1 WINS 123

    No problem Bill, I have no interest in cash thus why I List as GPP plays. I agree Almirola, Bowyer, Newman are risky plays starting in non optimal positions but all three have fast cars. If you look at previous races it’s not uncommon for drivers such as them to have fastest laps. If any of them get 10 fastest laps that’s an additional five points which is huge for them considering there starting position. Menard and Bubba are just as I say low owned plays that will need help due to unforeseen issues from other drivers priced around them. It’s easy just to list all the great plays but do all the great plays ever pan out? That’s why I prefer to add some low owned plays that could work if things play out for them. As far as dominators I agree that in most likely hood it will be two but there is nothing saying that Truex, Keselowski and Busch could lead 160 laps each and then at the end Chase Elliot pulls out a win due to late race wreck or pit strategy. Martinsville is a wild race that isn’t over until the checkered flag drops.

    @Cooper08

    @BillHoller

    While I said I wouldn’t be back for a couple weeks, I am playing this weekend, so I have done my research, even though I haven’t been posting here in a few days….

    I guess the question that needs to asked is who’s right?

    The answer?

    You both are….

    Based on the last 26 races at Martinsville since 2005, a variety of strategies would have won a decent-size GPP, with a notable exception….

    First and foremost, multiple dominators are always needed, and as you both seem to agree that number ranges from one (1) to three (3), with two (2) dominators being the mode and therefore the most likely scenario on most occasions.

    Now, back to the argument….. While I’m not going to post the analytics here. Again, you are both right….

    If I understand the analysis of by both of you, the opinion of Cooper08 is that is “don’t forget the middlemen, meaning while dominators and place differential guys are important, drivers with solid fantasy point floors that have a relatively high finishing position, and therefore high finish position fantasy points, even absent dominating or significant place differential points, are still valuable…. For example, tomorrow think of Ryan Newman in this category.

    As far a BillHoller, his argument seems to be to load-up on dominators (rightly so since there are a ton of dominator points at Martinsville) and fill-in the remainder of your lineup with drivers who have the potential for significant place differential points….. Based on the data, this is also an excellent strategy….

    Nonetheless, absent sounding bipolar…. if people reading this multi-enter in GPPs, I suggest you consider using the advice of both @Cooper08 and @BillHoller, in the following regard:

    1) For 50% of your lineups and to ensure a safe GPP floor, that has also high GPP potential, follow the advice of @BillHoller;
    2) For 50% of your lineups and to ensure a unique contrarian position at a track with extremely high variance, follow the advice of @Cooper08.

    By doing so, you achieve the best of both worlds…. That being, protecting your downside from large financial losses should the day go South, but also gaining significant upside exposure in your lineups should the “wacky” happen at a very green track due to the rain/snow….

    Nonetheless, I wrote this quickly so if something doesn’t make sense, please just go back and read and the blog/posts by the guys I just referenced…..

    ……

    On a completely different topic, and In the meantime…. A favor….

    I get a lot of requests for data/analytics and I have always replied and I have always given the person making a request the data/analytics they have wanted…. Often times, these requests take substantial time to run, format, or even explain as to precisely what is being presented…. As a general estimate, between two (2) and four (4) people out of 10, reply after I have put in the time and effort to fulfill a request…. While I’m not asking for a “thank you” a simple acknowledgement of receipt would always be appreciated, as I will then know that all my time and energy wasn’t completely wasted in my attempt to help you out.

    As such, I will no longer fulfill individual requests for personalized data/analytics, so please do not personal message me with said requests.

    Instead, if there is something the “community” is interested in, please post in a forum and if I can accommodate, I will also post the analysis in the forum….

    Nonetheless, since this post is already too long, for those of you still “researching” the following two (2) posts are data/analytics requests for Martinsville that appeared to be sent to the “wind.”, i.e. not even sure if the person requesting bothered to open …

    Even though it’s late, hopefully someone here will find this information useful in their analysis for tomorrow’s race.

    Detailed (too detailed) driver history at Martinsville for drivers competing on Monday.

    A couple of things worth mentioning….

    1) The data below includes all drivers who have a previous Cup series history at Martinsville. Thus, drivers racing tomorrow who have no Cup history are not included.

    2) Since the data is too substantial to put in tabular form, to download and review simply copy-and-paste everything below in the text editor of your choice (Notepad, Notepad++, etc). Next save the file with a .csv extension. Then close the file, and re-open in your default .csv file spreadsheet program (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)

    EDIT: To ensure you get everything, select-all then paste into your text editor. It is likely that you pasted some part of the RG page as well at the end of the file. Simply delete this “extra”, then save.

    EDIT 2: Based on a request, I ran the data below when Reed Sorenson was still expected to race at Martinsville. Thus, he is included and JJ Yeley is not.

    I like the Newman and Bowyer call…I think a lot of people will skip over the guys starting mid-pack…I also like Erik Jones but I cant fit in my lineup….be careful with Allmendinger and Bayne….both dont have good cars and I think Landon Cassill will be the biggest trap of them all….hes cheap but taking over driving Jeffrey Earnhardts car…bad equipment will lead him to laps down fast…good luck everybody once the race starts tomorrow

    @Cooper08

    @BillHoller

    1) For 50% of your lineups and to ensure a safe GPP floor, that has also high GPP potential, follow the advice of @BillHoller;

    Nice analysis…and you are correct, contrarian usually wins in DFS and that is why I always have contrarian drivers at a lower ownership but over the field while the majority of my lineups are safe so I don’t blow the bank.
