I asked DK chat, here’s the response:

They will be scored from the back, not where they originally qualified. The NAS slate will update with the full list and their positions once the inspection is finalized from our provider.

    thanks for that info

  • starstx

Hmmm … undet scoring rules on DK it says if a drivers qualifying position is disallowed, his starting position will be his new spot at the back of his race. If a driviers starting position changes between qualifying and the start of the race for any other reason i.e. going to backup car … the original starting position will be used.

These are qualifying times that are being disallowed. Based on what I am reading … they should be changed but I am not making any changes unless DK updates their starting position before the race.

    Follow up from DK:

We are working with Nascar diligently to get the official starting positions updated on the site. Keep in mind that the eight drivers that failed inspection will be sent to the back. Per Nascar, the official positions for these drivers are as follows:

    Hamlin: now 30th was 2nd
    Almirola: now 31st was 15th
    Elliott: now 32nd was 7th
    Suarez: now 33rd was 9th
    Johnson: now 34th was 10th
    Jones: now 35th was 2nd
    Tifft: now 36th was 20th
    Gase: now 37th was 36th
Please take this into account as you build or edit your lineups. If you have any additional questions or issues, please let me know.

  • ElSlappo

I think they meant Jones, not Hamlin in that follow up

Edit – maybe not, Jones was separately listed. Did Hamlin get moved back?

  • starstx

Except I see what you are saying … condensed schedule … they probably reserve the right to not change it if it is too close to the race with the condensed schedule. We kind of need to know this stuff though … it has a huge impact on what to do with your roster if they change it or do not change it

I know nothing about NASCAR, but is that a good or bad thing for these guys? If they start at the back, it helps them get differential points but they won’t win I guess?

In other words, how can we get an edge over people who don’t know? By playing those guys or by fading them? In large GPPs.

Jones is listed twice. I assume since Jones was 2nd the 1st line should have said Jones started 2nd and will now be 30th.

The 2nd line that says Jones should say Hamlin now 35th and was 14th or 16th whatever his original starting position was not 2nd.

Since this is an impound race, rules state, if do not pass inspection and you go to the back, your qualifying position does not count. You will be scored from your position in the back. Everyone moves up.

    NASCAR inspection rules: Pre-race/post-qualifying inspection

NASCAR updated the inspection violation penalties at the start of the 2019 season. They are also different for a race weekend featuring an enhanced weekend with an impound following qualifying.
The NASCAR inspection penalties for Richmond Raceway are as follows:
1 NASCAR Inspection failure: The team’s time from qualifying is disallowed. They will start from the rear, behind all other cars that pass inspection. They also lose their pit stall selection.
2 NASCAR inspection failure: If a team fails twice, NASCAR will eject a crew member of their choosing. In addition, they are forced to the start the race in the rear.
3 NASCAR inspection failures: If a team failed three times then they lose a crew member. They have to start at the rear. In addition, the car has to serve a pass through penalty on pit lane at the start of the race. A points penalty is also added to the list.

It is good for most of these guys. If you had a top 10 car and start at the back you can get massive PD points. But a lot can still happen if they do not place high or finish the race. Also … you usually only have 1 maybe 2 drivers which would spike their ownership but with 3 top 10s, 2 more pretty good drivers it is going to be really interesting on how ownership turns out . . You still need some dominators … this is crazy

  • starstx

My bad … DK shows Hamlin 30th and Jones 35th … a little confused why Hamlin is 30th and not Jones. I guess since the qualifying times are disallowed it does not matter that Jones originally qualified higher and they have some sort of method … maybe they just use standing to determine when multiple guys fail inspection.

    DK is updated

No idea what to do with my lineups now

  • homers1226

and all the punts are going to go negative real quick

    57 mins smh

  • starstx

I assume all these teams know the rules front and back … how in the hell do these teams fail inspections … and how do they fail multiple times?

Thanks! I have 3 of those guys so I think I’ll just leave them in. I’m getting my feet wet and only playing one lineup in the $11 contest. I have no idea what I’m doing!

Just by reading this board you should know there is an edge….:)

All in on Matt Tift tonight…..pretty darn scary if you ask me but will be very profitable if he stays clean with no issues….

  • starstx

Chalk city … those bumps man … that is a lot of 30 to 50 percent drivers.

I went all in on Tifft except 3 lineups I did not get swapped in time lol … he is at 30+ % in the one I am in. I got a good chunk O kept on Ty Dillon and some Newman no surprises there. I guess keeping around Preece, Byron, and A Dillon are a couple of my under 10 percent guys

  • Pinoy4lyfe89

There’s currently like 300 people tied for 23rd
