Guess they ran the second duel last night as I just woke up to more money in my DK account.

  • BigRay

I thought it was done when the big air dryer truck slid off the track. They seem to have problems with those every so often.

How do you lose 1+ drivers before they even reach the start line to begin a race?

Who did we lose? I have 3 lineups. No big money, just chasing tickets mainly.

Hey T-Wolf …. Yeah, I had Buescher as the free square tonight. Easy top 15 – 20 finish …. Right?

I was all optimistic for the first official race and to start the new NASCAR year on a positive note only to have my world come crashing down less than 3 seconds into the new season !!!

I guess I can piss away my planned new self-help book …. “The Power of Positive NASCAR Thinking” ….

I was certan that it would be an immediate smash and New York Times Bestseller …. :(

Maybe I can re-purpose it and make it a fiction book … I think it could work well in the “fantasy” genre ….

Knew my luck would run out, just didn’t know when lol. Down goes Friesen!

  • gje627

100% James Buescher. 100% Todd Gilliland. 100% Night Over.

    Submitted a ticket to DK.

Requested that moving forward they just turn all my cars upside-down before the race starts so as not to let me get my hopes up too high.

Beginning to feel like Charlie Brown always trusting Lucy to hold the ball “nicely” for my field goals ….

  • ifthethunder

“Knew my luck would run out, just didn’t know when lol. Down goes Friesen!”

I had him, too. As for Brett Moffitt, he’s doing worse than wrecked car emoji guys.

I was still cashing somehow after Friesen, but low owned Ankrum going out took care of that. I’m just glad Drew Dollar did well & finished the race – I only took him cos of his name lol.

Congrats to Rhodes & congrats to the winners tonight!

One of my NASCAR goals, honestly

  • Stangs13

I ended up down $1.50 so not to bad but man idk how anyone can consistently win at these super speedways. It feels like you should just do 20 max spread out exposures and play it like the lottery.

Looking at the practice round and the duels for the daytona 500 expecting a good few of the top ten to stay there. Off of keselowski with not that great history in the last four races. truex got a top 5 last year but the other three were not as good. May put him in a few based on position and a fast practice however. Almirola i would fade a bit as he has started top ten before here a couple of times and faded. Know practice times are not everything but trying this approach. Wallace seems like he’s going to have a dominate car this year. But of course it’s daytona and anything can happen with crashes, like byron in his duel leading most of the laps, so it all comes down to the fate of the draw ultimately.

Daytona 500 preliminary list of drivers to the rear. Tech will take place tomorrow morning (TBA) so expect more drivers to the rear. Also, with all the water in and around Daytona I wouldn’t be surprised to see more cars with mechanical problems requring fixes and more cars to the rear.

By rule, drivers moving to the rear start in new positions based on owner points and not qualifying order.

Thus, for example, even though William Byron qualified 2nd, he will start behind Martin Truex Jr who qualified 26th, simply because the #19 finished 2020 7th in Owner Points while the #24 was 14th in said Owner Points.

All cars now at the back and any additional cars going to the back later today or tomorrow will be scored from their qualifying positions and not from their new positions in the back.

Please note, for this weekend anyways, “start position” equals the actual position a driver starts the race and “qualifying position” equals the position a drivers will be scored from both for NASCAR purposes and DK/FD purposes.

I mention this, because this may change over the course of the year for other races depending on qualifying (when qualifying occurs relative to final practice … if any … very few practices scheduled this year due to COVID-19) and impound rules unique to each track.

DAYTONA 500 — TO THE REAR, PRELIMINARY LIST

    01. William Byron: backup car (qualfied/scored from 2nd)
    02. Brad Keselowski: backup car (qualfied/scored from 24th)
    03. Martin Truex Jr: oil cooler change (qualfied/scored from 26th)
    04. Cole Custer: backup car (qualfied/scored from 27th)
    05. Chase Briscoe: backup car (qualfied/scored from 30th)
    06. Erik Jones: engine change (qualfied/scored from 31st)
    07. Ross Chastain: backup car (qualfied/scored from 34th)
    08. Anthony Alfredo: backup car (qualfied/scored from 36th)
    09. Kaz Grala: backup car (qualfied/scored from 40th)

Other than William Byron, it looks like all who went to the rear were near the rear already.
