FYI: The table below breaks down DK fantasy scoring by scoring category. Hopefully, everyone can find this useful in determining number of dominators and place differential plays by track this year.

Total of 25 tracks below, but worth noting there is not a Chicagoland race this year and races have been added at Nashville Superspeedway and Circuit of the Americas, in addition to the dirt race in Bristol.

Numbers below standardized (in this case averaged) since there have been a different number of races at each track.

Numbers include all historical DK Cup series contests not including exhibition races (Clash, Daytona Duels, All-Star races). There have been 208 total DK NASCAR Cup contests not including exhibition race contests.

Note that the scoring distribution is for DK optimal lineups only.

Fantasy points calculated under the new 2021 DK fantasy points scoring schedule.

    While likely self-explanatory …

PD — Place Differential fantasy points
FL — Fast Laps DK fantasy points
LL — Laps Led DK fantasy points
FP — Finish Position DK fantasy points

Fine advice, gentlemen. But this afternoon we have the XFIN race. I don’t make many lineups for XFIN because my luck is horrible. I will make one with Noah Gragson and one with Tyler Reddick.

P.S. “Me luck is ‘orrble’ could also mean I’m just bad at it. But…nonetheless!

Managed an upside-down car emoji in all 3 XFIN lineups. Shirley this bodes well for tomorrow!

I’ll build around Hamlin and Kyle again. Because of Kyle’s price I’m hoping he will be low owned. Will also have Hamlin/Logano. I’m fading Harvick completely. I do like Dillon at 7700 and thinking strongly about Lajoie.

  • ifthethunder

Made my 7 lineups. Used Daniel Suarez and/or Anthony Alfredo sauce for salary savers. I have Corey Lajoie in one but I like the other two more.

At the start of each year, I try. I usually give up by about the third race …. Today’s the third race.

With that said, ff anybody out there ever wants to work on a data project together or needs specific NASCAR data or information for their own project, let me know. I have tons of NASCAR data, much of which you won’t find on anywhere on the world-wide web.

Too close to call. Ask me on the final restart and I’ll have an answer for you. :)

Perhaps the easier question to answer is JGR or Stewart-Hass. If that’s it, at Homestead-Miami in 2021 I like JGR much better. So I guess, if I had to answer the Harvick/Hamlin question pre-race … I would easily choose Hamlin.

I like the build with Hamlin a lot better, but I see Harvick touted everywhere. I think I prefer both of them with Larson than with each other. We will see!

I’ve seen that too and given Harvick’s overall performance last year, I understand. Not that some hype/fanfare isn’t warranted, but I think it may be a little overblown.

Interestingly, using this package … (with some adjustments) … in Miami, JGR has had four drivers (Hamilin, Truex, Jones, Kyle Busch) on the DK optimal lineup in the last two races, and Stewart-Haas only one (Almirola … not Harvick). Regarding, JGR one could even argue that they’ve actually had five drivers on the optimal in the last two races, as Christopher Bell (driving a JGR affiliate car) was also on the optimal in 2020.

That would be all five JGR drivers over that two-year period.

I hate mile and a half tracks with heavy tire wear. You must get the dominantors right and you have to pray one of your guys doesn’t cut a tire late.

    Number 15, too (James Davidson).

So Corey LaJoie is number 7. He was starting 25th, but I guess I might take him out. Alex Bowman I had in 3 of 7. He was starting 13th. Seems like a significant penalty. (Had no Davidson, don’t need to think about that.)

Still like Hamlin slightly better than Harvick one-on-one for finishing position, but Hamlin is virtually (actually) unplayable now for fantasy.

I can see also see Logano leading the first lap or two and then Christopher Bell dominating the first stage or more.

I’m only betting today so for those doing fantasy … Good Luck !!!

Well shoot. I’m gonna plug in Logano in more now and pull Hamlin out. Pulled Lajoie out of most too now. Inserted Suarez in more. Fire up the Pitbull playlist now !

Yep. Hamlin was way too cheap at the pole on DK. But put him in back and scored him from 1st? I can’t do it.
