I feel like some folks lose sight of how injury news like the Love situation affects the team on the other side. Now I like Randle when before I wasn’t interested. He’s going to get better rebounding opportunities now that Love is out. Mitchell Robinson is another one I like.

Robinson is a GTD, but if he plays he’s leads NYK in offensive boards. Could be a smash spot.

Will be interesting to see what the Cavs do when the Knicks play 2 bigs together. TT is really the only guy they have who can defend a big

Zizic is probably good cheap chalk tonight because of all the bigs in New York.

I’ve had this odd feeling about Garland all day. I started my “research” today by looking at PG’s and looking at CLE/NY. He was the first guy I looked at and felt warm inside. I think they call that a “gut feeling.” This guy was picked 5th in the draft for a reason. Has some legit upside as a player who basically hardly played in college due to an injury and I feel like he just needed extra time to get going. His usage was in the teens and is now creeping back up into the 20’s. That’s all I really have to go on. Ultimately he probably doesn’t have the upside you need for GPP’s, but that’s the unknown.

i put garland in all of my lineups

If we assume Love’s production is spread it impacts 2 factors: offensive usage of course but Love is also the leading rebounder for the Cavs at 12.1 per game. One perspective is TT could pick up a bunch of those and kill tonight. However, one might also suggest Taj/Randle could pick up a bunch of those as NY ranks #1 in offensive rebounds per game, and if we assume some of those boards turn into putbacks, could be a huge game for one of them.

Interesting. I don’t really like playing Knicks, maybe randle yet Taj doesn’t get minutes. Also, not a ton of value tonight, so I’m hoping Kevin Porter gets the start. No love and Nance could push for 30+, not bad for 3300. And cedi can jack some shots too. 🤷‍♂️

kemba walker always destroys pheonix to

He’ll be up against Rubio who’s new and a decent defender, yet the pace bump could help

Yeah, only listed Taj as Robinson seems to be endlessly list as GTD. Taj would only be in play if Robinson is out.

Just took a look. He only really failed in the 3rd matchup, in the other 2 he had 31-8-4 and 25-8-8. And this is a much better squad than last season. With SAS playing like garbage of late, I’m definitely going to have some exposure.

Yeah, failed is probably unfair. Failed compared to his price though. 50 fantasy points isn’t enough. Yes though, Dallas as a whole is better, Doncic himself is better, and the Spurs are worse.

Kevin Porter is a very, very bad player. He might be worse than Cam Reddish.

But I should stick to stats, I just made a whole argument of how if you could choose to only be good at one, you’ll rather choose quantitative facts > fundamental observations.

After taking Gobert the other night and watching the game I wanted to puke. He is just so SOFT. He just screens people all day on offense and is 20 feet from the basket most of the time. The only thing that worries me about KAT is the pace of the game. Most of their competitive games don’t get to 200.

    Garland break out game incoming.

Sexton was a solid play, now a very good play.

Clarkson goes from off the board to an OK play.

Darius Garland is also super raw. I also think he was way overpicked, especially given he also has limited physical tools to improve.

Note that these are just fundamental observations, not backed up by any statistics. Maybe it shows Garland getting a +0.5 FP/min without those 2 haha.

I actually think Cedi Osman benefits here.

Other way around, Jazz players = terrible for DFS. Can never get the right one (if there is even one that goes off).

does tyler cook get any minutes tonight for the cavs? could be in play for the stone min on FD. maybe zizic too?

looks like garland, sexton, and clarkson benefit most with nance and love off the floor. no one else with a usage rate over 20. granted it is a small sample size.

maybe garland/sexton in GPP? could be in play here.

He is. He’d be raw even if he didn’t basically miss his entire college season. Maybe he was over picked. The “stats” say he gets a boost without Love on the floor, but it’s a small sample.

Cedi seemingly would get a boost, but has been worse in his career with Love off the floor.

Interesting, so do I go with the stats or with the fundamental knowledge here….

Did you run Cedi without Love (no other restrictions). What about Cedi without Love AND Clarkson (since Clarkson mighta overlapped with him more last year) + with TT.

Yeah, I saw all that. Was caught off guard when I saw I was mentioned, but don’t disagree. I’m terrible at math and have no technical skills in that regard whatsoever. Anyway, sports knowledge is completely overrated for DFS. We’re in a day and age when there’s basically a stat you can find for everything that makes watching a game and the general knowledge that comes along with almost obsolete. Especially if you have the know how, time, and willingness to learn how to weigh those stats and use them to determine future outcomes.

Yea I built my own (this is why I don’t need the premium membership). But you have to know a ton of Excel, macros, and other stuff (some Integer programming).

u cant trust any knicks just the way it is-Mrob would put up monster numbers if they would just take the gloves off and let the kid play-let em play coach let him play

i dont start drafting lineups until an hr before lock because of all the injury news

This and also because if I start making lineups now, it’ll change 50 times before lock and I’ll be obsessing over which of the 50 lineup versions is the perfect one.

I typically only play a 1-2 lineups per contest but when I build early I end up convincing myself they all need to be entered.

Oh sorry as a follow up, I don’t recommend building your own optimizer (you should just use the one here it’s pretty good), but if you just want to take some time to learn (just to learn a new skill could be helpful for a future job), if you youtube like excel linear programming, it’ll give you an idea of how to do it if you wanted to start from scatch.

Cedi on, Love off over the last 2 seasons with no other restrictions results in -.01 FPPM. So, essentially no difference.

Cedi and TT on, with Love and Clarkson off, and no other restrictions results in -.03 FPPM.

MRob would play 25-30 minutes every game if he didn’t constantly get in foul trouble.
