Well I’ve been at work and just have been checking espn gamecast for the night. Its been a rough week so i couldnt stomach it lol. Everyone of my guys went off tonight accept for Fox so I figured with things wrapping up I’d check the results…

    Fox
    Barea
    Hield
    Gordon
    Durant
    George
    Markieff Morris
    Marvin Bagley
    Julius Randle

381.4 with dropping Fox, barring stat correction 2nd place in the FD $25 single entry And One.

Very Nice. Ended up with 359.8 and tripled my money. All the chalk hit and cash lines were crazy. One LU scored 338 and in a 100 person 50/50 I placed 50th lol

Guys balled out. Too many guys above 15% owned that went nuts.

Jabari, Randle, Barea, KAT, Mirotic, Gordon, Durant, Porter just under 15%, Harden, even Justin Holiday and Thompson were around 12% and went ballistic. I’m sure I’m missing others.

With the way these massive GPP contests are structured you have to finish in the top 10% to really break past min. cash so when these guys around 15% or more owned all go 6-10x hitting 300 or just above don’t mean a thing.

  • Dfspacman

Hopefully no stats correction on fanduel, my only lineup in the $9.99 GPP currently 9th place

  • lovetohate

finished with my highest score of the year. my low scoring players was steven adams and doncic with 32 and 35 each. only played one lineup tonight.
finished with 357 in dk 10 dollar gpp . for a measly 15 dollar profit. meh try again on monday.

  • JayB82

343.1 just made the cash line

  • yisman

Made some money assuming no stat corrections.

My only bust was Rodney Hood, who did zilch.

I had KAT, Randle, Durant, and Murray

If I used a better SG I would’ve crushed the contests.

Chalk going off. It happens. Has nothing to do with the size of the slate and 7 games isn’t big.

yeah i wouldnt even say it was necessarily “chalk” going off…. it was more like EVERYONE went off lol…

i mean tristan thompson was 13%….etwaun moore was 6%… plumlee, rivers, jabari, holiday, gordon, porter, etc… you could basically pick names out of a hat and hit 300 tonight…

My single bullets in nearly every event smashed 300…. early TURBO hit 350, my 6 man Tier hit 337, and my night TURBO hit 301… and i didnt win that much money tonight really…

you just gotta remember we are competing against other people who are choosing from the same player pool that you are… you arent going to win by hitting a phantom score you’re going to win by picking optimal and near optimal lineups….

dont get so hung up on silly stuff like 6x…its counterproductive… try to form a combinaion of players who have the capability to form a winning lineup score

I cant figure this out, I do 20 lineups a night and usually a 20 person player pool.

I mean am is that not enough players or to much and I try to pick the players based on matchup and if I think they will hit 6x. Any advice is much appreciated, am I doing something wrong ?

Doesn’t make sense especially with the AD news. Miro seemed like a lock to me. Spurs on a b2b also, they were down like 16 points in the 1st quarter. Could have changed a bunch of things if the blowout continued

yeah DFS cash is insanely hard compared to GPP IMO..

i laugh when i hear people say play cash to build your bankroll… i mean yea if you’re in like the top 3% percentile sure thats a great strategy. Otherwise you’ll just get absolutely murdered..

you gotta realize that the people who play cash games are mostly taking this stuff pretty serious. Theyre putting together their best lineup and then trying to bink in GPPs

Whereas a lot of GPP players are barely researching, entering “fun” lineups, doing random crap, or just playing the chalk they hear on a podcast….

GPP are like playing a $100 poker tournament in a casino on Saturday night…. there are some good players, some solid players, and then hundreds of donkeys….

cash games are like playing a $5/$10 No Limit Cash game on Tuesday morning at 4 AM… these guys are very, very good at this

Thanks man and yea Lol Kat did smash tonight but i would of moved other guys around. Fox was really low owned if he could of had a good game I might of squeezed out first. Im just killing myself for not going into more tournaments, i run a single bullet train usually but im still happy with the results.

In past seasons I’d defintely agree with you. And I still do to some extent. Yet it seems more and more that if you don’t hit that 1 stud or 1 value guy who goes ham you’re not cashing in a GPP, and the GPP cash lines are often a wide enough margin above cash game cash lines that it makes sense to play some low stakes 50/50’s or double ups.

Now I agree that someone shouldn’t be playing these multi entry doubles ups that allow 100 entries as you’ll just be facing 100 lineups from like 30 to 40 of the top players. Yet if you can spread your cash games around in single entry contests with at least 100 people in the $1 to $2 buy in range, you can do OK.

my only problem with this is that the rakes on the single entry cash games are extreme, and with the number of purchased lineups being entered any night, that’s a tall hill to climb. i prefer to put my entries into GPPs (and focus on smaller rake and/or better % payout contests) because on average i will do better with more upside.
