Great slate boys. Let’s get the ball rolling at 4am EST.

  • Pierce85

T.Man/Kennard again if George or Kawhi are outside. Like Westy again (if beal is out), Rui/Len, Rozier, Booker/Paul, Capela/Bogdan, Joker

GG, this is a wonderous, beautiful slate, GET UP

Regarding the George stuff, it’s not surprising. My lineups were too far gone for me to make any changes, the only exposure I had to the 10 PM games was Lavine and we all know how that went.

But Lue definitely takes a page out of Doc Rivers when it comes to the secrecy surrounding injuries. The Clippers are one of the worse teams when it comes to injury news. Shit just pops out of the blue, it’s maddening. If we had that news at 6:45, how many of us would have played Leonard, Morris, Mann, etc?

Anyway, I fully expect Leonard to sit tonight. They already won the game they were suppose to win. So Mann, Batum, Jackson and Zubac are all entering my player pool.

Russ is in play regardless if Beal is in or not.

IDK what to make of the other 2 games. Vegas expects the Nuggets/Sixers game to be close, so I suppose Jokic makes sense here. And then the Hawks/Suns game I feel like the Hawks lack the fire power to keep up so even though it’s a 6 point spread, I could see the Suns running them out of the building.

NBA has lost a good portion of their fans and ratings are down-DFS and gambling is critical to their success as more and more people are getting turned off to the lack of transparency and players sitting out. At the very least the league needs to require players that are going to be out designated accordingly on the injury reports an hour or more before the game starts. My personal opinion is if the league feels the players cant handle the daily grind of the “long season” then shorten the season and put a quality product on the floor.

As far as tonight goes Joker and Russ are locks just figure out the rest

I see this DFS take all the time, the NBA makes a shit ton of money and isn’t going to cater to DFS players which are a small portion of their overall audience. Sad but true. No one makes you or anyone else play, it’s a choice and if it’s affecting your happiness you probably need to step back.

That said, unless they revise scheduling or season length, you can fully expect the future of the NBA stars to be handled in some way like pitchers are handled in the MLB today. Players want to extend their careers and teams want to protect their investments and some type of rest strategy is going to start to becoming commonplace. The NBA just needs to accept it so teams can be forth coming instead of dancing around it and manufacturing last minute injuries.

People don’t seem to get this. Similar is when people complain about shadiness as it relates to NBA DFS. Like the coach is going to risk his 20 million dollar contract to gain an edge in DFS for the tiny chance at 100k.

So what, his chances now go from 1 in a 1000 to 2 in a 1000. Pretty sure people affiliated with the nba aren’t even allowed to play DFS (not sure though)

  • zeeshan2

I like Porter, Deni, Cody Martin, obviously Jokic and WB, Harris, Graham, Rozier, and Hayward

I would presume the NBA would see it as a conflict of interest, similar to open betting which isn’t allowed. And IIRC, in the DFS industry it’s frowned upon or outright blocked as well as it provides insider edge.

I think this is a bigger issue than it is given credit for. I can agree NBA could care less about DFS players. But actual gambling (which I dont do) is a bigger deal. I would assume it must suck to have to wait til post tipoff to find out a guy isnt playing and you have money on the line. NBA is a joke in this manner. If they arent going to play they should say so an hour before the game.

Considering actual gambling isn’t technically legal in every state, the NBA has to play games. If we ever got to the point like it is in the UK where there’s sportsbooks in arenas (I think) things would change a bit. But really…this is part of the nature of gambling, betting on the unknown. Even if player status was a bit more concrete, you can’t account for foul trouble, cold play, rotation patterns, injury, etc. It’s part of the risk you take and there’s several teams/players who are more likely to sit in specific scenarios than others. If you are a serious better, these are factors taken into consideration and drive hedge betting to cover all scenarios, not unlike hedging lineups for DFS players.

there are books in arenas (stadiums) here obviously, but, they aren’t used too much tbh. You can walk down any street in any major town in the country and walk by 4 different bookmakers. and you have access to 20 books from the comfort of your phone at any time (as long as you aren’t a winning punter).
