Made one LU for tonight. Just going to play Trae and Luka together instead of trying to figure out which one is better or being too risky and fading both.

I like Ja at cpt on DK.

Historically, looks like you want to target Gaurds and guys who shoot the 3 ball. Stay away from the bigs unless they like jacking up 3’s.

  • gaelicgirl

Advantageous to take players who play on the same team in “real life” for the familiarity?

Zion played 31 minutes last night, does that worry anyone tonight?

Absolutely, I am staying away. This is more of a gaurds game for me. He’ll get a splashy dunk or 2 but thats it.

Ja doesn’t shoot threes. I think you’re better off using Trae at captain. The game will likely have 270-300 combined points. The guys just jack up threes. I am gonna focus on pure scorers…primarily high volume three point shooters.

  • gausman7

Guys like NAW and Svi (the two cheapest players available) could go ham if they get minutes. Svi is a pure 3 point specialist and NAW lives to have the ball in his hands. You can leverage one of those plays to make a pretty strong lineup. Zion is the one that the fans are gonna be behind and the coach is gonna load him up with minutes. He is the one big man that I could see having a massive stat line. The hype train is real.

EDIT: Graham at captain fits the mold pretty well too.

I built a lineup last night and it pretty easy to play whoever you want. And yes you mainly want 3 pt shooters or bigs that are athletic guys that can take lobs, handle the ball, and get boards (Zion). He went in my dummy lineup last night. Still need to dig in though and make sure there is no restrictions for him. Agree NAW and Svi are pretty good value plays. Every lineup should start with Luka and Trae

    Unless it’s Zion.

Is there a good source for starting lineups for tonight? does it even matter?

It doesn’t matter. You can always estimate who will play for both sides.

Like Ja is probably near 100% for example for Team USA (regardless if he starts). SGA is probably near 100% for Team International. It’s harder to estimate how much playing time guys like Luka and Trae get though. They’ll start, just not sure if the coach wants to run them out with the later events but they are the two best players obviously for fantasy if they get full run.

Jaren Jackson Jr is an average fantasy player in real basketball (but good real basketball player to help his team win games), but in a game where people just allow rebounds to anyone and where 3s are taken, I wouldn’t be surprised if he took like 12 threes tonight lol.

Yes it matters. Should be something this afternoon from practice of who is running with who. That will be a good indication of who is starting

I don’t agree. Luka will start and maybe play only 23 mins or so. He could also play a lot, but it’s not really related to if he starts or not (which he will).

Seems like the most a starter will play is 25 anyway. With everyone in the 15 minute range off the bench. Trae did come off the bench and play 24 minutes or so last year though, but he was the only one really.

The question was does it matter who starts not does it matter if Luka starts. Usually starters play more. Everyone doesnt get equal playing time

  • JSteele

    Any idea of the starters?

I could see Ja, Trae, Graham, JJJ, Zion and Luka, SGA, RJ, Rui and Wagner

    This year is different.

Trae and Luka are playing on Sunday and Zion is coming off a b2b. On average, obviously starters play more since they are more talented, but this year, if the bench player is fairly talented vs. the starter, the bench player can easily play more.

Collin Sexton and/or Kendrick Nunn might come off the bench, but they could easily play more mins.

I could see this too. I think targeting guys like Nunn, Sexton, Graham, JJJ on the USA side make a lot of sense and then on the World side, SGA, Melli, NAW, and Svi. I’m not sure that those Washington guys get a ton of run with their recent injuries but I’d have interest in Wagner.

I want to build my lineups under certain assumptions, like based on how much playing time guys like Luka, Trae, and Zion get, since that directly affects their backups. Like if you assume Trae gets less playing time, than Ja, Graham, Nunn, and Sexton get more so they are anti-correlated (at least some of them, but I guess they can also share floor).
