This is exactly the tourney you do, say 20-40 LUs, with the 80% of the guys you like. Anyone’s guess what’s going to happen. I do know that Harden saw big minutes last year and put up a good art line. He will get 30-32 minutes. Also use guys that chuck a lot of threes (Klay). I’m using Durant/LBJ/IT in the few I’m doing because they like to show off their play making ability and won’t see much D and each should see 25-30 minutes. Frank the Tank is my US target.

No one played more than 28 minutes last year. No idea the direction the coaches take this season.

Yeah, the highest minute players were Steph Curry (28) and Kyle Lowrey (29). I’m guessing Steph will see the same amount of minutes or more because of Kerr, who also coached last year.

Kerr coached in 2015 actually and no one played more than 26 minutes for the West. Last year was Pops.

Oh yeah I forgot they made Kerr ineligible. But according to Basketball reference Curry played 28 minutes and 50 seconds

Anybody else think Durant will have a tough time getting the ball when Westbrook is on the court with him?

I think they either make up and start throwing lobs like the old days, or they both get into a fist fight and tank the lineups of 80% of the field.

Yes, you are correct. Under Pops, Curry lead all in minutes at 28:50. When Kerr coached in 2015, Paul led the West with 26:46 (10 seconds more than Harden and Curry) while Lebron led all in minutes at 31:45.

    My bet is 100% Beastbrook.

That post made me think about Russ’s minutes with Kerr as his coach and Durant as his teammate and everything that happened last week. Would it be wise to keep Russ exposure to a minimum or i’m overthinking this?

I think Kerr would try hard to be the best coach of this team and not play favorites with his guys. So no I don’t think he would lower RWB’s minutes bc of Durant or anything but that doesn’t mean RWB has to pass the ball to anyone he doesn’t want to

I got fired this morning so I’m hoping this slate turns things around for me. I aspire to play DFS for a living.

Ugh…bummer. DFS as a living would be fun maybe, but incredibly stressful. Supporting a family, I think I much prefer a guaranteed check keeping things in balance.

No lineup builder for the nba all-star slate?

Fortunately for me I’m still under 30 and have no family to support, so I can roll the dice a little.

I am def playing Hayward…. I think he is going to be that player that gets open and hits all the 3’s and gets mvp….. lol I know its crazy but he is prolly the most unthinkable guy to go off in the all star game therefore I think we will hit great value

  • Gfry3

KAT and Jokic were none to thrilled with each other the night, that combined with KAT knowing he can make it 3 wolves in a row to win MVP of the rising stars game has be pretty excited!

  • River2009

Millsapp should see 20+ as the only big mason the east and 3.3k love it.
All star game is just chucking shots so gotta get some derozan exposure for his cheap price and Hes a starter
I like melo although not a starter, Lebron said he wasn’t going to over work this all star game so melo should get the minutes (will try to find where he said that for proof)

looking over the last 4 or 5 years worth of box scores for these two games this is what I take away:

Minutes in the world/usa game are usually more evenly distributed, where as in the all-star game the starters tend to get a few more minutes on average. Because of this guys like Jokic and Towns will have a harder time making value. I think the smart roster construction will be taking punt plays from the rising stars game and stud starters in the ASG. More specifically pay for ASG gaurds and punt the big man spots from the Rising stars game. The hometown guys will definitely get extra run too, but Davis and Hield are priced up to compensate for that so it may be wise to fade.

I suggest remembering these games are to a great extent skills exhibitions. I wouldn’t worry about match ups or how many centers a roster has and how that will effect a players minutes.

These may be mostly obvious things, but thought i’d throw my 2 cents in.

Look at it this way. If I hit a 25K I would be tickled to death because it would be a windfall.

If you were counting on DFS you would need to hit that 3-4 times in a given year.

yes, I understand you can play cash games. But I would say unless you have a 60 percent win rate on cash games it might be too difficult to generate a return that would replace a 40-60K job.

I think we all have at one time or another sat at their work desk with feet propped up thinking about playing DFS full time and being sustainable at it, but I think you need to win enough first to entertain such bold career moves.

NBA TV on Facebookhas some pregame stuff. Tthe World Team practice the guys walking the sets are Porzingus, Saric, Jokic, Hield, and Exum. Rest watching from sideline.

  • tonytone1908

How do you not play Draymond at that price? He could hit value on assists alone.

  • tonytone1908

Westbrook with 4 Warriors does kind of scare me off some of them. You know he’s gonna ballhog but Kerr could very well nip that shit in the bud too.

The first thing you need to do if you want to be a pro is set aside at least 6 month to a year leaving expenses. You cant start out broke and expect to make money right away in order to survive. At one point or another stress will kick in and thats when you can never win. Second are you an overall winner at it right now? If not dont even try. Thats coming from a person who gambles part time for over 20 years.
