For those interested my ultra contrarian strategy worked in the main $22.22 FD contest. I purposely made 7 bad entries with bench players as my MVPs and with McKinnie hitting the last 3 I won $3,125 (split 8 ways from the 25k promotion). I think this strategy offered tremendous positive EV but with the game 2 promotion only 10k I don’t know if it pays off again.

Nice work! I slightly considered making a lineup for each player that shoots 3’s (there’s about 20), but I already had an uncomfortable amount of lineups in play. You’re probably right that it won’t be nearly as profitable in game 2.

I know there’s a tendency to discount the regular season, and Toronto has changed their team, and it’s a very small sample size. But I thought last night was quite consistent with what we saw in the two regular season games:

Game 1: No Curry or Draymond. Toronto sees a ton of open 3s with so-so success (Siakam and Green hit theirs but the rest of the team was 10 for 32); their bigs go nuts (Siakam had a then-career-high 26 and JVal and Ibaka combined for 32). All five Toronto starters finish in double digits. Leonard had 37, Durant 52.

Game 2: No Kawhi. Toronto again misses a lot of 3s (Van Vleet and Miles hit theirs but the rest of the team was 5 for 22). Van Vleet controls Curry, Lowry picks up the scoring slack from Kawhi, all five Toronto starters score in double digits and Ibaka nets another 20. GSW turns the ball over 19 times and has nothing offensively but Durant, who gets 30.

Durant had 81 in the two games, Klay had 31, nobody else for GS averaged more than 10. Durant’s now out; is it a surprise they’re having trouble scoring? The only thing really new was the extra 20 free throws they got last night; the shot chart looks a lot like the no-Kawhi game.

Draymond was 1-5 from the field with 4 turnovers in 25 minutes in the regular season; last night he played 40 minutes, went 2-9 and had six turnovers.

Siakam had a career high, Ibaka had 20 twice. Last night Siakam has another career high and Gasol gets the 20.

Toronto’s smaller guys get tons of open looks from 3 in the regular season games and for the most part don’t shoot well. Ditto last night.

Random thought…Boogie wasn’t bad in his 8 minutes. He moved the ball quickly, got a steal and a kicked ball violation that got credited as a steal. At least he was trying on defense. Tied for the best +- in his time on the court. Not saying the warriors need to Boogie for than 12 minutes, just saying that he wasn’t quite the stain on the warriors game that he has been. 🤷‍♂️

Adjustments will be made, gotta fade the public (per say) in this game (I am at least). I’m not playing much of Siakam (if at all), heavy Kawhi and Klay, prob zero Danny Green. Livingston is borderline but at least his salary didn’t go up $1,800 like Green. I mean damn, he’s pricier than Ibaka. Who has history vs GS and if not for Siakam “giving what the defense gave him” he would have had 30 DK points. He’ll have a 40 burger this series. Gotta keep riding Gasol and Klay and I think give Lowry another chance? I think the key to the Showdown “unique entry” is finding the sub 10% owned C that hits way above their ceiling. Siakam was 3.6% owned at the C spot. You HAD to have him at C to win the previous Showdown. All I’m saying is that I’ll have a fair amount of Ibaka at C. He was 4.7% and when he hits that 40 burger at $4,200 you’ll want him at C at 5%.

i may be wrong but i remember seeing draymond play a lot of defense against gasol to interrupt their offensive rotation as gasol sees a lot of passing responsibility at top of key. i could totally see cousins or bogut become starting C and dray sticks siakam. bogut is a great low own dart this week. And his price went up have to see that as some sort of foreshadowing🤔🤔

in that case forget Cousins or Bogut, it’s all the Gasol for me.

Seems unlikely that they’d start Boogie, but Bogut could be a real possibility. Kerr mentioned Bogut in positive terms three times in today’s media session, including saying that he’s available and could have an impact.

As a fan of the big fella, I hope that his price increase is indeed some kind of dramatic foreshadowing.

Let Bogut bang the inside, has experience, give him some run, zero killed some good lineups
