based on floor +/- Boogie playing increases Raptors chance of winning by half a point

Does that mean increases their chance of winning? I’d be surprised if Boogie sees more than token minutes in this series, possibly coming off the bench to play with Klay and the reserves. Don’t think Bogut will get much run either, as the Warriors will probably play a lot of small-ball lineups to get Gasol off the floor.
It’s hard to anticipate what will happen in the first game, both teams will be testing different things out. I’m very curious to see how the Raptors will try to defend the Warriors’ current best weapon, the Steph-Draymond pick-and-roll.

*Didn’t notice you changed notches to increases, my bad!

    Danny Green guards Klay.

    which lands Klaw on iggy…
… but how much does it really matter since Kerr loves to pick & roll into favorable cross-matches for Curry…
.. and Kerr really likes to cross-match into a post player, like Kanter or Gasol.

this Curry on Gasol cross-match is always worth a chuckle

LOL that was great. Think we’ll see more Ibaka/Siakam at center than Gasol for just that reason.

I don’t. Nurse has rode Gasol through all 3 rounds. He’s one of their best defenders and 3 point shooters. I think he’ll put him out there until GS runs him off. Which probably won’t happen if Boogie is out there clogging up the court.

It’s a given Gasol starts, so most likely Bogut starts for rim protection out of the gate.
in games Cousins plays, Bogut might only get 2 to 8 mins, otherwise I have him @ 12 – 20 since he’s the best defender on Gasol

this is why I don’t see Cousins starting 1st game back:

..“DeMarcus is making good progress. But the timing of this whole thing is tricky because he misses two months,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said following practice on Monday. “It always takes big guys’ longer to find their rhythm. The speed of the game is so fast. If this were the regular season, this would be simple. Put him back in the starting lineup and give him his minutes and let him work his way back in and find his rhythm and it’d be an easy one. We’re going into Game 1 of the Finals.””

Which is why I don’t think we’ll see much of Boogie. Aside from being a great defender and shooter, Gasol is a great passer and can serve as a safety valve if/when the Warriors trap or double team Kawhi. The last thing the Warriors want is Gasol playing as a bigger and better shooting version of Draymond, so I think getting him off the floor will be a priority.

Agree. Whoever starts, I think Looney will still see the bulk of minutes at center because he’s a better perimeter defender than either Boogie or Bogut.

I think that’s a fair assessment, but Gasol still gits his, unless he devolves to Kantor grade defense.

vs MIL, Gasol had a low of 19 mins in game #2, median of 30 mins

And Siakam has 0 mins at the 5 for the entire playoffs. He only plays small ball 5 when OG is out there and OG is still not coming back anytime soon.

What about playing Ibaka at the 5 and Siakam at the 4?

that has been the trend sans Durant.

In the current LU Looney has increased his per36 on the road from 23 to 32

that’s 26.6% of TOR 720 minutes played in the playoffs

Finals Curry has been a thing for four years now. With no Lebron on the other side, do we trust Curry to not disappear for several games in this series?

    Disappear?

    Finals MVP, baby! Long overdue.

A bigger factor is KD, so yes, it might upon his heralded return

In KDs absence, SC has out produced Klaw.
Execption being 1st half of 1st game KD missed…so only 2 of 22 qtrs MIA

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26848881/nba-spoke-raptors-drake-ecf

The NBA spoke to the Toronto Raptors during the Eastern Conference finals about Drake’s activity and presence on the sideline, a league spokesman told ESPN.

Last year, the NBA warned the rapper, who also is a global ambassador for the Raptors, after a confrontation with then-Cleveland Cavaliers center Kendrick Perkins during a playoff series between the Raptors and the Cavs.

Drake drew attention this year for leaving his courtside seat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks to give Toronto coach Nick Nurse a shoulder massage.

I think playing small ball is no benefit at all to the warriors this series. If they do ibaka will play the 5 and the trio of siakam ibaka and leonard will destroy the warriors on the inside. The captain position will be very tricky. I dont think you can fade leonard curry or Green.

  • Neilj907

If boogie is playing I have a hard time thinking he wouldn’t be a good captain… he always seems to be priced too low and he should get all the run he wants until things stop working out and warriors lose.

Nah everyone knows he’s really not that good. He’ll get like 24 mins max this game. Not worth it as captain or any slot really.

I think toronto smokes them tonight by about 10 and I am putting my money where my mouth is in a big way

  • ASitar

    He’s too cheap

Gasol is 9-for-16 from 3-point land and 30-for-55 (.545) from the field over his last five appearances against the Warriors. He burned them for 27.3 PPG over three meetings last season. And he averaged 7.5 APG in less competitive contests this year as a member of the Grizzlies. The Warriors gave up the third-most FPPG (51.08) to centers over the final month of the season.

31 entries from a .25 to 3.00 contests. Pen and paper trying to figure out game flows, various outcomes. Think I am done. Have an itch for one shot at the million at DK. 40% for first out of the prize pool is ridiculous. It’s a fn trap. Good luck all
