Game went pretty much as I thought with the exceptions of the injuries and Boogie’s big game. GS picked up the defensive intensity and pace. Toronto scrubs and Siakam/Gasol came back to reality. The only thing that derails this GS machine will be injuries.

It depends on where the dubs defense focuses

they paid attention to Pascal -checked
    and Boogie Trumps Gasol -checked
FvF snaked this way to open shots witch he somehow made

And Klaw picked up where I left off after halftime game 1
3 straight halfs of 30 dK pts

Klay’s one of the toughest guys in the league. He pretty much always plays if he’s injured. Even when bleeding from the ear and concussed!

  • telestraightshooter

    Boogie’s mins/ fPts
    5/ 1.25
    6/ 10.5
    7/ 9.75
    5/ 10.5
All were the start of each qtr, then he closed with 4/ 3.75.

His per36 was 56 after he shook the rust off in qtr 1.

Sans Klay, Im projecting 32mins for Boogie / 50 dK pts

    No doubt.
Waiting on Klay’s MRI result like

    Congrats GG 👍

I posted yesterday that I thought the Dubs would take that 1. Was actually arguing with someone on the other thread, who said they don’t see the Dubs scoring more on Toronto, and I said neither do I, I see Toronto scoring less. Lo and behold the dubs scored the exact same amount and Toronto scored less…I mention that so all 10 people who still read the thread know just how amazing I am. 🤔🤢🤢🤮🤮😉😁

Anyway, here’s what I learned through 2 games. These teams with Klay are evenly matched. If GS wins game 3, I’d pick Toronto game 4. And vice versa. If Gs wins the next 2, I’d take Toronto game 5 and game 6.

Yet if Klay doesn’t come back, the series is over, unless Durant comes back almost fully healthy. If Klay and Durant both come back, clear edge to GS. If it’s just Klay, series could really go either way. Klay very important on both ends of the floor. Underrated player IMO. Shoulda been all NBA

I remember you saying that yesterday, and your other posts, too. Glad Kerr went with your second strategy option of letting Kawhi get his and focusing more defense on the other players. That seemed like the best option to me since, as you said, he looked hobbled in the first game and the strategy of focusing primarily on him failed miserably. I also agreed with your assessment that the Dubs didn’t need to score more, they just needed to make sure the Raps scored less.
Because we agree so often, I hereby recognize how amazing you are

    How does this LU…..
    Curry *top 5 NBA
    Dray *allStar
    Boggie * allStar
    Iggy *clutch time assassin
    6 Role players

Not best this LU in a 5 game series!?
    Klaw *top5 NBA, gimpy
    Lowry *needs thumb surgery
1 random role player having career game
    5 role players

Even more defensive attention can be paid to Steph. Boogie had a nice game yet I’m not convinced that he can sustain that level of play for 28 minutes again. Coming of 2 injuries. Team also didn’t play well with him during regular season. Though I admit, he looks ok. Still won’t be enough. Iggy, not a scorer. He’s a clutch shot hitter, not a scorer though. There for his def.

Dray has been awesome, yet he’s also not a scorer. He can score, yet not enough to make up for Klay. Warriors, IMO just can’t score enough points without Klay. Did you notice how when Klay left the game, the dubs didn’t score for like 5 minutes and almost blew a big lead?

If KD doesn’t go, the Dubs better have Klay or they simply won’t score enough points…imo

Who’s gonna make up his scoring? No one…dropped 25 last night and won by 5. Not expecting Quin Cook to hit 3 3’s every game.

I’m watching a series where variance is shifting game to game. With no Durant these teams seem evenly matched to me, and I’d expect at least a 6 game series if not 7 (assuming no KD)

Looney fractured collarbone, so out for the rest of the Finals

  • gaelicgirl

Looney has a fractured collarbone, out indefinitely.

  • BerkeleyBoss

Just remembered I had an Iggy@MVP lineup on FD and he hit the last 3. I checked and there were only 36 of us, so I got $277.78, woo! The lineup cashed for $24, too.

Made 1 lineup with Danny Green, Lowry, Gasol, VanVleet & Iggy at MVP that I wouldn’t have otherwise made. Figured all of them could possibly cash and mayyyybe even win if everything falls perfectly. Shout out to the guy that posted the other day about doing this in game 1 and winning with McKinnie.

  • gaelicgirl

Klay has a hamstring strain, likely questionable for Game 3.

Nooooo, that’s so sad. I posted last night that we were screwed without him…but then I saw Boogie play in the 2nd half. We got this!

Bogut looked good in limited minutes, too. Hopefully he’ll get more now.

Definitely. I don’t think Kerr really wants to play Bell much. Bogut’s obv not the guy he was back in 2015, but he makes good decisions. Looks like we’re gonna have to lean on Boogie.

    True

Did you Notice Nick Nurse quickly went to a box and 1 def when Klay hammy’d out?

Smart move but no way thats lasting long in g#3, ex-Nba anyalyst was saying he has never seen box and one defense in NBA before because it’s so easy to exploit.

    Boogie can score, made a carrer out of it;
Cook can score reliably on open shots, filled in 65% of what Curry produced when he missed how many games last season?

If dudes step up, no worries. If Boogie can get shutdown w/ Curry and Dray on floor then that’s a serious problem,
    I don’t see it happening

This series was over once Toronto lost a game at home.

Game 3 Line has moved from -6.5 GsW to -4

That is a HUGE dip in confidence from the betting sharps, indicating that Klay most likely will be a no-go.
And even if he does suit up, a bad hammy makes a great defender… meh

dubs are still favored 2-1 at -190, down from -250

Getting mixed messages from Klay, seems about 50/50 that he’ll play.
So it seems about 50/50 that he won’t.
    This is all too stressful.

I hope so. I’ve made 5 LUs and adding 2 more (DK) and I have waaaay too much Bogut. A 18 minute, 10/8/5 w a block game is what I’m hoping for

I have him for 16 mins 14.41 dK pts = 6.6x, highest in game,
    20% of m LU
