IF Klay is out, who sees more minutes, who does it help most?

Alfonzo McKinnie and Quinn Cook might see the biggest minutes bump. Just a guess, though.

Outside of boogie, who’s the biggest beneficiary with the absence of looney?

Bogut going from 0 min to potentially 10+

Andrew Bogut would be my guess. Maybe Jordan Bell and Jonas Jerebko get a few minutes, too. Lots of guesswork today! At this point, anyone with two healthy legs and a pulse has a chance to see the floor.

How can Thompson be effective on the defensive side of the ball? Who is he gaurding? Does Lowry get a boost?

Kerr switched the defensive assignments in the second half of Game 2. Andre went from guarding Kawhi to Siakam, Draymond switched from Siakam to Lowry, and Klay switched from Lowry to Kawhi. If Klay doesn’t play tonight (and I don’t think he will), it’s going to throw everything up in the air. This injury situation is unprecedented, it seems impossible to predict what will happen because Klay has never missed a playoff game in his career.

I’m pretty light on Steph tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if he underperforms.

SG Cook came in when Klay went out, so I think he starts. His per36 is static at 26 sans Klay.

In game#4 vs POR, sans Iggy, core players were +2-6 mins.

Also I see vets Iggy & SL per36 getting bumps.

Since Dray & Boogie will be more involved in offense, that could get Gasol & Ibaka more mins

I heard in college game a teamed a triangle & 2 def at him.

Steph scored 0 pts standing @ half court corner w/ 2 def on him.

Davidson won by 30 pts playing 4 on 3

If it was Klay’s decision to make, I have no doubt that he’d play. But it’s up to the medical staff, and I don’t think they’ll let him play if there’s any risk of him making the injury worse.

I’m probably just gonna have Cousins in every lineup on both DK and FD.

Should be tonnnnns of ties on FD, with Cousins, Draymond and Kawhi looking like locks. There are only a few reasonable ways to fill in the rest of that lineup.

What kind of ownership do you think cook will have? I believe he will determine the winning lineups tonight.

If Klay is out, I’m guessing it will be pretty high on DK, but not so much on FD where he’ll compete with McKinnie and Livingston for ownership (can’t really play more than one of them om FD). For me on FD, I have a hard time finding lineups I like with the really cheap guys. Mostly fading Steph and putting in Cousins/Iguodala/VanVleet as my cheapest.

Wow- the LU GsW used last 4 mins of game (except last 45 secs) was 1st time this season they EVER used it.

    Cook

This was NOT the death LU,
    but the flatline LU.
Got outscored 0-7 in 3.75 mins

I dunno if they open game w/it….

no and if he does he wont be any good but I doubt they risk him. I bet at raptors +5 I suspect by game time it is +1.5-2

I hope they open with Steph, McKinnie, Andre, Draymond, Boogie

  • siddom

i hope klay plays so ppl can chase him

  • ASitar

I’m not using him in ONE LU, but watch Lowry pull a Siakam from game 1 and put up 45 DK points. That’s how you win these Showdowns..take a risk on a couple of players ppl are down on and hope they exceed expectations.

  • sfguy21

The guy im struggling most with is Iggy. How much is he going to be slowed down tonight?

  • shades

Does Bell get any play tonight?Tough to decide between the lower guys.Does Jerebko or Bell get more minutes.I cashed last game but Bells 0 cost me a few spots and the few points Jerebko got would have made a difference.

Coaches have tried just about everything over the years, but none came up with a game plan quite like former Loyola coach Jimmy Patsos. In the 2008 preseason NIT, each participating team was guaranteed four games. Loyola lost its first two to Boston College and Cornell and then picked up an emotional win over James Madison on Nov. 24.

Patsos stuck around for the nightcap, scouting Davidson. He had less than 24 hours to prepare for the 24th-ranked Wildcats, who were led by the nation’s top scorer, a 6-foot-3 junior who had led his team to the region finals of the NCAA tournament the previous spring.
Curry had begun the 2008-09 season on a tear, notching 29 points in the opener, followed by 33, 44, 30 and 39. To make matters worse, Patsos felt he had just eight players who were 100 percent healthy.

During warmups, Patsos knew he was in trouble.
“I was surprised how good he was. He didn’t miss,” said Patsos, a former Maryland assistant under Gary Williams and now the head coach at Siena. “I thought, ‘We can’t stop him. That’s a lottery pick.’ He had so many weapons; he handles the ball so well and gets it off so fast. I knew there was no way we’re beating them if he puts up 30 points, so let’s try something else.”
That night Patsos came up with a plan, a modified triangle and two in which two defenders would shadow Curry everywhere and the other three Greyhound players would cope with the remaining four Davidson players.
“We knew we were trying something different,” said Brett Harvey, a junior guard on that Loyola team. “But nobody in the country was able to stop him, so we had to try something new.”

Davidson won the game, 78-48. By not scoring a single point and accepting a diminished offensive role, Curry actually helped his team win. His final line: 0 for 3 from the field with three rebounds and three assists.
