Anthony Davis just traded to the Lakers for Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, and three first round picks including the number 4.

My proclaimed worst player in the NBA being waived today. Anyone think an NBA team will even have any interest? Woj reported that even Lebron doesn’t want him.

    What happened to Rodney Hood?

  • yisman

Speaking of numbers, not sure if mentioned yet but Nike blocked LeBron gifting the jersey number to Glass. Claimed they’d lose money because they already made tons of jerseys with the old number.

Other LeBron news: LeBron drafted a fellow Rich Paul client in the second.

    About third worst.

I just had a terrible dream. I woke up to find that the Bucks signed J.R. Smith. Glad it was only a nightmare.

Apparently, my bad dream was a foresight into what may be happening

JR Smith will have a free-agent meeting with the Bucks today in Milwaukee, league sources tell TheAthleticNBA Stadium. Bucks are searching for a wing shooter and both sides will have opportunity to sit down.

Iman Shumpert’s available, as is Vince Cater.

Maybe Coach Bud can raise his game from the worst player in the league, to just one of the bottom five.

the dilemma of the supermax contract as currently constructed

“Additionally, Paul helped negotiate for a change to the league’s over-36 rule (now the over-38 rule) that allowed him to sign a four-year, $159.7 million deal that looks like a supermax if you squint. Ever so coincidentally, that’s probably the third-worst contract in the NBA.”

    The phrase that comes to mind is….. conflict of interest/ moral hazard;

To be eligible, ….Made an All-NBA team—the first, second, or third team—in the previous season, or both of the two seasons before that
This basically nullifies 66% of superMax situations for smaller markets

I thought of The Monkey’s Paw, as well. CP3 got his wish, but now finds himself stuck in OKC.

In another interesting article on the supermax, Deadspin’s Albert Burneko offers a counterpoint to Haley O’ Shaughnessy’s Ringer article, arguing that the supermax actually benefits owners at the expense of players.
    https://deadspin.com/the-nbas-supermax-is-doing-what-it-was-supposed-to-1836458806

“The idea that a hard salary cap will create parity is almost too silly and baseless to engage with, especially because parity self-evidently is a less worthy goal than labor fairness, and one the owners themselves only care about insofar as they can use it as a cudgel against the interests of the people doing the NBA’s actual work.”

Giannis’s brother cut by Dallas today. Maybe the Bucks for three and sign him to their G league team. Hell, next year they can make it four and put the brother who is going to be a Sr. in HS on the G league team as well.

Why not? Read a nice article about Alex on Bleacher Report, and brothers teaming up seems to be trending. Justin Holiday joining Aaron on the Pacers, Thanasis joining Giannis and Robin joining Brook on the Bucks…it would be kind of cool if they could add Kostas and Alex, too!

Bucks just signed Korver to a veterans minimum, and PG Frank Mason to a two way. Love both of those moves for the Bucks.

Yeah, just saw that – figured you’d beat me to the punch LOL

Great pickups, especially love the addition of Korver!

  • tmarohl

I like both, because Mason gives us a third string pg in the event Bledsoe or Hill are out. Means we don’t have to waste a full roster spot on a third PG who wouldn’t play a lot.

Very true. I must say, the Bucks are making some smart moves in this offseason.

Solid moves. Hard to not like these additions. Good pieces for very cheap.
