Did anybody play the new NBA Positionless on Fanduel yesterday? I didn’t see it again today – wondering if they are tweaking it since it didnt fill up. I actually preferred it to the regular one.

I played yesterday. I like the concept (and the late swap). Using the same salaries as the classic format and having 8 roster spots instead of 9 made it a little too easy to fit everyone in. Maybe they excluded it today because of the small slate.

according to their twitter account, FD said it would be back tomorrow.

So it looks like FD wasn’t telling the truth – there are no positionless contests today, despite what they told me. Kind of weird for them to say that then but whatever. I love how they try something out once with little to no advertising and small prizes and then expect it to take off.

Looks like they just posted them a few minutes ago (11:45am ET right now).

It is an interesting concept and though at first blush I am not a fan of things that reduce decision points (i.e. vs the more stringent 2/2/2/2/1 FanDuel NBA rosters) – one could also counter that there are even more decisions since often times the equivalent of a made bucket and a steal are all that separate a dozen players on a slate with 8-10 games.

Looking forward to the thoughts of others after a few days of trying it out.

Actually, looks like FD was telling the truth.
