In the days ahead we’ll post the usual daily NBA threads, but until then I figured I’d start this thread for sharing NBA news and discussion for anyone who wants to do so. Please do keep the thread on topic to what’s going on in the bubble.

This is wishful thinking, but I am hoping as they are all in the bubble we will have lineups in a more timely fashion. I can already feel my first tilting 7:01pm “”(player-popup #kawhi-leonard)Kawhi Leonard”:/players/kawhi-leonard-13310 is not with the team tonight” as their 7pm game tips and despite him not even warming up we have no idea. Maybe there will be less gamesmanship as they are all together all the time.

Lots of talk out of Sixers camp that Shake Milton will be the starting PG with Simmons moving to the 4 spot.

From the perspective of someone who has watched 90% of Sixers games since the 10-72 season (even I couldn’t stomach a full season of that) I think this won’t actually matter that much.

If Simmons is on the floor he’ll have the ball in his hands. If he doesn’t then he’ll stand in the corner getting no respect. I believe the only thing this actually changes is that Simmons will now be able to focus more on guarding forwards instead of guards.

For DFS purposes there has never been a time to be more contrarian. Its basically a whole new season. I would think certain teams might have trouble generating the same sort of momentum they once had like a Bucks or Lakers for example where they appeared to be on a collision course to the finals whereas other teams like perhaps the Celtics and Rockets are given new life. I do not bet on games but if I did I would be taking the points as much as possible.

    another Buck tests positive

    Connaughton

Nets/Wiz are going to be the best teams to target early obviously. I also am wondering about the Spurs. Part of me thinks Pop might treat this as a joke, especially with LMA out, and do something dumb like play Lonnie Walker at C and Keldon Johnson at the 4 or play all 12 guys exactly 20 min each to stick it to someone. They are the GPP Boom/Bust team of the tournament in my opinion.

Agree with this to some extent, Harden in particular should benefit from the 4 months off. In DFS news,
FD added $10 to my account

    What a nice surprise!

  • yisman

maybe FD only did for inactive people

    no 10 for me

    edit:

“We are planning on sending this bonus out to everyone, so if you have not received this promotion yet, be patient because you will! Be sure to keep an eye out for that in the near future. “

I have been active playing NASCAR and PGA and got the $10 as well. This is going to be a crazy restart! Like has been said before, I’m watching the Nets and Spurs closely for value. It’s a toss up who will be getting minutes from some teams. I’m a Utahn so with Bogdan out I think Ingles and Clarkson will be huge for them. Can’t wait to get started since MLB isn’t my thing.

This is going to be a mess. Situations I’m keeping an eye on so far.

    Lakers with no Rondo (Caruso?)
Clippers Bigs with Harrell leaving the bubble and Zubac (And Shamet) were not spotted at practice Tues 7/21 (Who the heck is left?)

Maybe Simmons all of a sudden can shoot the 3 and space the floor now. Wishful thinking.

At least JRich and Harris are good 3 point shooters and can provide spacing for Embiid.

You know what’s ironic. When I left that other thread, gaelicgirl posted a Gif that was like Mickey Mouse saying goodbye…but that was before the NBA season was confirmed for Disney World. So pretty good prediction there.
