New and Improved RG Bankroll Tracker Tool Live

Thanks to some really impressive work from your fellow Grinder, Cruzin2Victory, the RG Bankroll Tracker is much improved from the original product we launched a few months back. Here are some of the changes:

Check Out the New Bankroll Tracker Here

    1) 2014 Tracking Added
    2) DraftDay and StarStreet Results Tracking Added (in addition to FanDuel)
    3) More concise data, including graphs for profits over time
    4) Suggested Bankroll Play Tool to help you better understand how to distribute your bankroll based on other winning strategies

Feel free to post any feedback or questions here, and Cruzin or I will get to them as quickly as possible. You can also find the bankroll tracker in the FanDuel daily research section, and we will have it added to the DD and SS Daily Research Consoles soon.

One last note, a popular question will likely be when we can incorporate the other sites into this tool. The answer to that is we can’t accumulate enough data to produce the same information the tracker hands out for FD, DD and SS until a site has a downloadable CSV with buy in, entrants, prizes, finish, score, date and specific sport. We do not have that information on the other sites even if you copy and paste your results feed, so for that reason we can’t include those yet.

Just a quick update. We’re uploading a new version that has fixes for the DD issue jjarrad pointed out and adds 50/50s into the Double Up category. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s up.

Edit: It’s uploaded now. If you re-download the file it should have these issues fixed.

Great work Cruz! Appreciate the work you’ve put into this.

Thanks for the excellent tool. I absolutely need to start tracking a lot better.

This is really awesome, thank you for sharing.

One thing I noticed. With DD, they list your satellite winnings as 0, and then the full entry fee for the main tournament. So, it’s not quite accurately reflecting your cost/winnings. To sort of manually correct this, you can either add in satellite winnings = entry fee that you won or zero out the entry fee on the big tournaments where you won a satellite.

Sadly this seems to be the case for FD as well. Not a huge deal for some, but if you play a lot of volume (like stlcards discovered) it can skew your results quite a bit.

I’ve submitted a support ticket to FanDuel to fix this, so maybe I’ll put one into DD as well.

    Glad you’re enjoying it!

    Amazing

Thanks for the tool, this is amazing. One thing I’m noticing, maybe I imported incorrectly or something, most of my DD double ups are showing as GPPs, just wondering if thats the case for others.

edit: should i just set the type to double up in the gamelog?

  • LaPeste

I am a excel noob. Downloaded excel just to use the bankroll tracker. I opened up the csv file in text edit and copied the game results into cell A2 in the red FD tab. The program isn’t able to read the data. Games played and results are all at 0 in the light blue fanduel tab.

Any help would appreciated. I guess my first question is how to copy/paste the csv file. Is the way that I described how I did it the correct way?

So the only way I was able to determine if a DD game was a double up was if it had “Top 50%” in the game description. Do you have DD double up games where that isn’t true?

You could technically just change the game type to “DU” but then it would probably mess up whenever you add in new games and hit “Update All” again.

If there are double up games without the “Top 50%” in the title let me know and I can look into a way to detect them.

To start, open up the csv file in Excel as opposed to Text Edit. Opening it in Excel will keep it in the same format so that it’ll paste correctly.

Then, once you paste it into the red FD tab, go back to the “Bankroll” tab (the first one) and click the “Update All” button. Then all the other data will fill in.

Ok, so I have the csv file open in excel. How do I copy it?

Just highlight all of your games, right click and copy. Just the way you’d copy paste anything else :)

lol ok I think I’ve got it. Thanks!

yea the titles should always include 1 of a few different strings though with the possibility of a roman numeral next to them.

    like
    rubio tuesdays
    chronicles of redick
    ming the alarm
    double-double
    juwanji
    louis oka’for

those are the 2,4,11,22,55, and 109 double up titles. not sure about the names of anything above that

Unfortunately unless there’s something that will show up in each one it’s not really feasible to add them in. I’d have to add a new formula for each name, and 6+ names for 6 sports would be too much.

Hopefully DD can begin to include something like (double up) in the game name on their export. That I could work with.

how do you update your back roll day to day? like after you set this up, your obviously going to play more, how do the new leagues you’ve played get added on?

Great question. In general there are two main ways to do it after you re-download the updated .csv file from the site.

    1) You can simply paste the new file over the old data and click “Update All” again. Now everything will be up to date.

However, sometimes you might have manually changed some records in your data. For example, I had to manually change a few FD games because it counted satellite tickets that I won for the full buy in even though I didn’t have to pay it. In that case, here’s what I do (using the FD tab as an example):

    2) First I organize the tab by date from newest to oldest. This shows me the last time I updated that site’s data.

Then, I download the new FD .csv and copy everything after that date. Finally, I paste the new data right after the last row in the FD tab and click “Update All” again on the Bankroll tab.

    Hope that helps!

    It did thanks

ya i agree. i manually changed my formulas to look for those and it works great. thanks for the work you did on this.

trying to use bankroll tracker on a mac but excel keeps freezing. tried opening read only, same problem. any thots?

  • gweim

Is there any way to get average score per sport on each site? I tried to do it manually, but because on a day it may have 20 scores that were “44.9” for example it was hard to do. Looking to do this basically for each lineup so a formula would have to find a unique sport, and unique lineup (score) on a certain date.

Wow that was gibberish… hope it makes sense

Unfortunately I don’t have a Mac to test on (my macbook died a year or two ag) so I can’t really comment here. I would assume that the Mac version of Excel can handle macros, but I could be wrong.

Anyone with a Mac care to comment on what they’re experiencing?

Off the top of my head I can think of a way to do this, but it would be rather involved.

If you’re interested, send me a PM and we can discuss via email. If you’re semi-decent with Excel I can explain how to do it. Otherwise I might be able to whip something up for you.

Mac works fine for me. Loads slow, but it eventually works and I assume it’s because of all the macros.
