We’re excited to introduce our new site design. Thanks to our designer and dev team for months of hard work on this more modern, cleaner look.

The best aspect of the new design is the wider max width. This became necessary as our tools grew more complex. Tools like Lineup Builder, Projections, and CourtIQ should all be much more user-friendly in your desktop view.

Now that the overall design is released we’ll be updating a lot of individual pages. The home page is first on our list.

Team RG has been using the site for the last few weeks in search of bugs. We found and fixed dozens, but we’re sure there are more lurking. If you find any issues please post them in this thread. Screenshots would be really helpful.

    Thanks!

Above is the new header showing the main menu and the sub-menu. This view displays all of the links and tools from the old site. The Daily Research Console has been renamed “Research Tools”. Here you can access incentives for all sites and sports.

Scrolling down on any page will minimize the sub-menu. On the old site, our header was “fixed”, meaning that it was only ever at the top of the page. You always had to scroll to the top to access any of our navigation items.
With the new design, our header shifts as you scroll down the page such that the main 5 products we offer follow you as you scroll and the submenu hides (like it did before).

You can now access any of our 5 main products, like our “Research Tools” at any scroll depth, but you still have to go back to the top of the page (like you did on the old design) to access any of our secondary navigation items, like “Articles”, “Search”, or “Starting Lineups”.

If you click on any part of the main menu area that’s not already a link, it will take you to the top of the page and display the sub-menu.

    We’ve got a new look!

Design changes are generally a bit jolting and often come with their share of whys and why nots, but give this one an honest run for a few days and you may grow more attached to it than the last. That’s how I’ve felt as I’ve surfed the site on our beta env’t for the last week.

Nothing has changed functionally, but we now have more real-estate and our pages are a bit cleaner. If something is broken or doesn’t work the way it used to, let us know, and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.

As always, thanks for your help and patience!

    I’d love a dark theme

The defense vs position tool for DK NBA seems to be broken now.

  • ghostchant

I definitely second the dark theme. This changed was like a small system shock. Maybe that was just the fact that when pages refreshed, it was suddenly different and brighter, but, I feel some darker colors with more contrast would be a bit easier to digest.

    THIS. Too bright.

  • Bajohn16

DvP tool works for me, but when sorting by FPTS, there’s no highlighted color difference based on matchup quality (blue, green, yellow, red). They’re all just red

But other than that, looks great!

I like it, but I’m not sure about the shrinking top menu when you scroll down the page. I would prefer to have the two columns of menus in a static format. Maybe there could be an on/off settings for certain display preferences.

The company logos in the right column could be made a little smaller to keep them on one row and save a little space.

nba def vs pos isnt showing up.

  • doozie350

too bright and too zoomed in

I’ll ask the designer about this. Would love to offer the option.

To big and bold. We are on RG for info, not flash and splash. The NHL just ruined there web site doing this. Go back to what you had before. It was much easier to find what you need.

@kings2609 and tonytone—The “undefined” issue should now be fixed.

  • kpthadon

Looks clean. Also you guys should post winning lineups from the night before.

You are 100% correct..Thats why it will never go back to the way it was

  • maxeernst

A bit bright for me as well. Takes some adjusting to get used to the new size for forum posts too—-can we make them smaller again?
