I actually play on a different site, than the ones listed here, but I notice sometimes I pick batters that end up not playing. Is there a way around this? Some of the games don’t release their line ups in time for the gave to close. Is there something I should be looking for to see who is likely to bat in a given night? Or is this just part of the game?

Check the “starting lineups” section of this site as well as twitter.

most lineups are confirmed and set before the first game lock out time.

The later games of the evening can be a gamble on both hitters and pitchers.

If you play a site that has lock out of all games at 6 pm, then you are stuck with choices.

Research as best you can, but sometimes a player will have last minute “sit out” and you will be screwed.

I would suggest downloading the RotoGrinders app if you have a mobile phone – it has all the information you need and you can get alerts/notifications to help you get the information you want delivered in a timely manner.

If you don’t have a smart phone, just go to the DFS Alerts page here and the Lineups page here – those two pages will update with lineups/news continuously.

you need to get into the habit of checking rosters before lock to ensure you are starting the right people. don’t pick players from DF/FD’s player pool, pick them from rotogrinder’s or fantasylabs’ lineup page as they do a pretty good job of projecting the day’s lineups while the sites just put everyone, including minor leagues into their player pools.
