Why the new RG Rankings system? For only contests 25K and above, Pretty much sounds like its just for the the PROS. Screw the little guys lol

  • bigez952

It has always heavily weighted buy in level and volume so the pros spending 6 figures a slate by default will be at the top. It’s their rankings so they can do what they want but I always take them with a grain of salt knowing that the rankings are not really ROI based.

It’s mainly because the entire rankings process is manual since sites like DK do not allow any type of automated data pulls.

With the current 5k minimum on a Sunday with multiple sports running that’s over 700 contests all which need to be manually opened on DK, the file downloaded, then uploaded to our site.
The number of total entries in those downloaded files can be in the millions and has become a very long process. As prize-pools have grown over the last two years the number of contest meeting the minimum has more than tripled.

Unlike years ago most core sports now have lots of low buy-in contests meeting the 25k min. Yesterday for example NFL alone had 100+ contests meeting that requirement with a buy-in under $10. We will monitor it for other sports and adjust as needed if there and not enough contest.

RG rankings are a fun way to track your results and view your ranking. Nothing we are doing with them is to give “Pros” and advantage. There are no prizes or rewards for being highly ranked.

If uploading millions of entries per week was not a manual process we would not be changing it, but unfortunately that is the only option currently.

Whats so wrong with this anyways? The little guys were never going to be highly ranked lol. A competitive ranking system is never going to cater to casual players in any game/sport

well i’m 716th overall and 26th in bantamweight and this new rule will put me out completely as I play 1 to 3 lineups a night and I’m in several contests with less than 25k in prizes. The 10 lineup min will def put me out which is a shame as i enjoyed checking my rank from time to time. i’m also in the top 300 in nfl and nhl and top 200 nascar despite not playing lot lines so it can be done well could have been done lol.

I actually read the rules wrong I believe the 10 line thing is spread across all the contests and not a min of 10 in each so technically i’m still alive!!!

I still think its BS to the little guys!! Like the rest of this country. The Rich get Richer (even during a pandemic) while the average person gets more poor!!

It was nice for a player like myself who can’t enter 10,000 lineups a night, but could check my rankings against other Non PROS

  • Timbo636314

No sh!T we weren’t going to rank High.. How long have the rankings been like they are? Exactly so why change them.. Just because I’m not a professional with computers and who knows what else giving me 10,000 lineups a night, doesn’t mean I’m a casual player.

  • Timbo636314

I didn’t know you guys manually had to do it.. What about on Fanduel?

  • Timbo636314

Yeah its really only for about 10-12 people.. The same people who win all the time!! Hhmmm Conspiracy!! Who know’s ha

Not exactly sure what you mean. If a contest gets imported and uploaded to profiles its all users who played in that contest.

This will change very little for most users. It’s not about buy-in size its prizepool size.
