Is there anything out there like the Draft Best Ball tournament this year?

On the site it says 18,001- 36,000 pays $5 and 36,001- 54,000 pays $3. If that math above is correct 42.8% of lineups will at least get your money back. So 5th or better in a league should pay money back right? Obviously the amount of points matter but just as an estimate. I’m just trying to figure it out as with no way of following it I hope dk actually pays out those places. Call me a skeptic but I just wanted to think it over.

Posted this last page. If my math is all correct there still should be a lot that needs to be paid out and adjusted based on the overlay.

I would say its either that or we all need to be patient. A thing I am not good at. I will say the only reason I played as many entries as I did in the $3 is for the overlay so hopefully they get it all straightened out.

I don’t see any of the round 2’s set up yet so how do you know that all of the wildcards are already figured out and you for sure didn’t get one with your 2.092? I am guessing there is some manual adjusting that is going on on thier end to get the next round set up.

EDIT: quoted the wrong post as I meant to quote the one above saying the 2092 wasn’t good enough to advance as a wildcard.

I think it’s just taking time. As like you I was curious about this weeks ago and this was the response I got—
“If there are not enough advancing entries to fill future round contests, there will be wild card entries that advance. Wild card entries are the entries that scored the highest fantasy points among the non-automatically advancing entries.
Example: There is a tournament with a maximum of 12,000 12-man round 1 contests, where the top finisher in each contest advances to round 2. Round 2 is made up of 1,000 12-man contests (12,000 total entries). If only 11,000 round 1 contests were to fill, only 11,000 entries would automatically advance. We would make up the additional 1,000 entries with wild card spots.
If there is a tie for an advancing entry or wild card spot, the advancing entry/wild card spot will be the one with the highest scoring single week in that round. If still tied, it will be the entry with the second highest scoring week in that round. This process will continue through the lowest scoring week in the round. If still tied, the advancing entry will be the one with the overall highest scoring player in that round. If still tied, it will be the entry with the second overall highest scoring player in that round. This process will continue through the lowest scoring player in the round.

Finished in second place with my single bullet in the $20 Milly. Scored a respectable 1931.Guy who won my league put up a whopping 2136!

    I had 2164 and 2107 in the 2 that I won
    Also had a 2nd with 1997 points

  • Rickytango13

Just got 3 wildcards. They also paid them out. Looks like wildcard won’t affect 1st round payout structure.

  • Stangs13

Where your wild cards from the milly or $3? What were your scores that got them?

I got four wild cards. However, they are merely posted as tickets at the moment. Will DK auto-redeem these once they post the second round contests?

Same with mine. Weird that they paid them out since it means it was better to get 2nd or 3rd and get a wildcard than to win your group.

Wow if that is the case it is really dumb as I won one of my groups by less than 10 points in the $3 and sadly it looks like I would have been better off had Beasley not went off to grab the win as I likely had a wildcard spot locked in with my score.

I guess I really should have gotten in the $3. I’ll “prepare” for next year much better.

I’m sure like a bunch of us injuries just ravaged my team. My draft spot sucked for getting RBs. My “top dogs” were Jacobs & Singletary (whoops).

Finished with 1797.74 with Mack, Sutton, Ross, and P. Williams.

I am wondering the same thing. Had 2 that I finished 2nd and 3rd in the milly and didn’t get any wildcards from them. Only ticket I got was for finishing first.

I am also patiently waiting to see how they assign to the next 12 team league. I would think they would have to do it today since the first game is tonight.

If thats the case what they have posted in the rules is not true. It doesnt list it only by place in the league, but also place in the round for all leagues. They should be bumping every team up some. Here is how it is listed in the rules:

    • Top Prize – $50,000

    • Total Entries – 216,000

    • Payouts – R1: 1st: Advance | 2nd: $5 | 3rd: $3 – R2: 1st: Advance | 2nd-12th: $8 – R3: 1st: Advance | 2nd-12th: $40 – R4 Payout below

    Round 4
    1st – $50,000
    2nd – $25,000
    3rd – $20,000

    5th – $10,555
    6th – $8,000

There wasnt near the overlay in the milly. I think they were only a few leagues short so you probably wont get a milly wild card. The $3 had a ton of overlay hence the discussion on how they are paying out.

  • Ndepompei

Kind of annoying that they didn’t change the payouts with overlay. Would’ve been better to take 2nd or 3rd than winning the league

There was zero overlay in the milly so zero wildcards

I’m a little confused – I finished 1st in four leagues and didn’t get any money – so I’m only moving forward? Am I guaranteed cash no matter what happens in the next round? And did they advance other teams as well that didn’t win first?

Yes if you advance your guarenteed $50 in the $20 and $8 in the $3. Next rounds only the winners advance and everyone else gets a payout. You don’t really get good payouts until you reach round 3 and if you make it to the final round 4 your in for a big payday. It is tough though as only 1 of 12 advance the next two weeks.

Yeah that’s f’ed up doesn’t make any sense at all, that 2nd place wildcards are better than winning your pool. Wtf is DK doing it shouldn’t take this long.

  • BIF

Not sure what the cutoff was for Wildcards on the $3 but I have a 1972.28 that DID get a WC ticket and I had a 1878.40 that did NOT get a WC.

So somewhere between 1878.40 and 1972.28 was the cutoff.

  • Straightfire118

So 2nd place wildcards get paid and a ticket while 1st place just gets a ticket? Talk about a completely flawed way to go about it.

    Agreed

  • Straightfire118

DK has some explaining to do, they can’t just go rewarding the wildcards more than the people who actually won their pools.

  • mcgruffthecrimedog

Not sure why they wouldn’t pay first place finishers besides being pushed through – doesn’t make too much sense, considering the small payouts in the next two rounds if you don’t advance. You really have to make it to the final week to get any decent payouts – I feel like the payout structure should’ve been different.

  • cheezpizza

Just had my Round 2 in the $20 auto redeemed. Good luck to those trying to win the Milly
