I’ve played DFS for some time now and have been almost entirely a GPP player. I’m looking to switch things up a bit and start to be primarily a Cash game player and throw in some lineups into GPPs for fun still. This might seem like a “rookie” question but Im just not sure so I figured I’d throw it out to the RG community.

When approaching Cash games such as 50/50s, double ups and H2Hs is there a ‘smarter’ choice to proceed with one cash lineup for all games or focus more on a cash core and build around that with multiple lineups? I’m definitely going to be throwing out multiple entries still so Im just not sure how to approach it. As an example, on DK if i wanted to enter a $5 Double Up and wanted to enter it 10 times do I do a 10 team train or 10 different lineups around the same core? Or just one $50 double up?

Any help or tips is appreciated, thanks!

i play one lineup per slate. early, main and late ive never done well making more than one for a specific slate. Im sure you will get all different kinds of answers for this question tho.

For cash, I just play 1 lineup and enter it into 100 man single entry 50/50s on Fanduel, for both NFL and NBA. I’d rather win or lose with my favorite lineup than kind of hedge out with 1 I may like less.

I’ve hedged with 2 cash lineups all year but I try to make minimal changes. I had a bad cash week on the main slate (good early-only and good GPP fortunately) but my only swap this week was a 2v2. I had Mariota/”(player-popup)Antonio Brown”:/players/antonio-brown-12322 in one and Brady/”(player-popup)Jordy Nelson”:/players/jordy-nelson-12334 in the other. Obviously the first one worked out much better but I felt like 45 PA for Brady was the floor and had some concerns about Mariota. I overthought it in hindsight but it felt like a good idea at the time.

Most of the pros will tell you that playing more h2h’s with only 1 “optimal” cash lineup is the best way to create some differentiation so that in theory if you have a bottom 30% lineup you are still winning back 2-3 cents on the dollar depending on rake.
