Hi everybody, my name is Albert.

As many guys getting on the fantasy world, I think I know something about football and fantasy (Yahoo and nfl , lol), but also I know there´s a lot of people doing a living on this, and things will not be easy, I´m not pretending to get rich with this, believe it or not , at some point is also about fun for me, but trying not to be a fish and knowing my limits !!

I´m looking for some advices on how to get started on DFS, will write about my general objetives:

    - Participating in low cash games my first NFL season – Trying to get a profit of 300-500 USD by the end of the complete NFL season (Achievable for a rookie ??) – Getting experience on this games and doing a correct manage of the bankroll (Willing to start with 200-300 USD) – Have fun

    Which are my plans ??

    - Creating my account on draftkings – Playings low entry fee games – Buying the 4 e-books from JM Tohline (Good idea ?? Or should look for other books for rookies ?? )

Any advice from you guys will be pretty good for me !!

    Thanks !!

If you exclusively play beginner contests and make sure you’re always on top of value plays like backup rb’s who are starting, a $300-500 profit is not guaranteed but with a little luck is feasible since I believe DK allows you to play up to $2500 in beginner contests. Also I believe the beginner contests tend to offer more overlay by design. If you stick to playing cash games and small tournaments at the beginner level, and seize as much overlay as you possibly can, I believe that is an achievable goal. If you start entering the milly every week, that will probably devour whatever profits you make employing the type of strategy I’ve just described.

Hey MisterX – definitely recommend RotoAcademy to get up to speed quicker. We have a lot of free NFL strategy content here as well.

Based on your goals, I would definitely encourage the free content out there and urge you to consider focusing on H2H’s. It is certainly the lowest risk proposition, so consider an amount to play each week and spread it over lots of H2H matchups. My $0.02

Thanks everybody, I guess I´ll start with the free content as you adviced !!

GL MisterX – it is refreshing to see a beginner with realistic goals. I’d probably avoid the huge millionaire maker type tourneys and focus on H2H and small field joints.

Good luck MisterX! I think you have set achievable and realistic goals that’ll lead to even greater success.
