on FD in a 229,885 GPP (DIVE) the ownership was the following on 2 players…I actually liked Wilson, but didn’t play him….if I had a large bank roll I would’ve used him in a couple GPPs for sure.

However, I just find it odd and absurd how low owned they were— but it’s like having Stanley Johnson at SF in NBA on Monday night — some people think about those guys, the ones who play them were the lucky ones I guess.

Russell Wilson 35.2 at 1.7% owned and Doug Baldwin 35.5 at 0.7%

its basically a crap shoot trying to pick the players that will go off as they say, and Baldwin is never going to float to the top of anyones list of must have picks unless they are Seattle fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if Seattle fans account for the entire lot of folks picking him. Wilson is always a stretch – winning QB but never a threat to be a consistent high scorer – again its probably Seattle fans picking him. What happened though that resulted in the huge point totals – that’s what is the key to this. Was it Lynch getting injured?

I’m gonna second this idea. Probably local fans accounting for the majority of those lineups. Last week I had Marcus Wheaton in one of my lineups just in case Seattle did all they could to stop Antonio Brown and left Wheaton uncovered. I’m a Steeler fan and know how much they talk on local radio about how much Ben likes to get him the ball. I doubt most people were on Wheaton and judging by his 0% ownership I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I’m right. Literally 7 out of 23,000 lineups had him with 4 of those 7 pairing him with Roethlisberger. He put up 38+

Disagree with these posts. Wilson was talked about by many people, especially the “sharps”. In Evan Silva’s matchups article for example, he described the game as “potentially a sneaky shootout” and the Wilson/Graham combination as a smart alternative to Rawls since everyone was high on Rawls after the Niners game. You will notice that some of the “pros” had a significant amount of Wilson in the Milly Maker. Wilson was an above average play last week, period.

Baldwin is different of course. He has had some decent games and he is typically the cheapest #1 WR on any given Sunday. He was obviously not a clear play, but I can see the pairing.

For what it’s worth, I had Wilson in 57 out of 480 lineups on my best site at the moment and I had one Baldwin. I am most definitely not a Seattle fan and I live in Texas. I happened to agree with Silva on the potential of the game to be higher scoring.

just goes to show you what low ownership and great results can do for your GPP squad! that’s 4 sho

Great results are all that matter. The guy leading the $3 $1M Draftkings GPP this week has Ben, D. Williams, Antonio Brown, Brandon Marshall, Allen Robinson, Scott Chandler, and David Johnson, all over 15% owned. But he has 278 points. Pick the players that are going to hit 5x value, don’t drive yourself crazy thinking about ownership.

Just got shut out of a single-entry tourney with 195.26 points! Antonio Brown meaningless punt return sealed it…finished 0.1 point from cashing…funny thing…..I was 46.52 pts. from winning…..

I still have yet to figure out how all this works and DFS seems like a big game of wack-a- mole to me. This week I had some my highest scores but I am definitely not even going to break even. I am out of the cash in almost all of my GPPs and I may not even cash on some of my double ups. I do have one stack left with Ben, Brown and Williams sitting at 162 with Reed and Garcon left but I am doubting those two will make up enough ground for me.

Guy winning the Quarter Arcade started James White and Bilal Powell at RBs, with Amendola at flex.

Powell definitely wasn’t on my radar, but I totally get the White/Amendola plays. Both coming from a huge passing offense vs a weak passing D. With Gronk out and Amendola playing there was a strong case for him. White splilts passing snaps and looks with Bolden, but with this offense both deserve coverage.

I didn’t really double stack many Patriots offensive weapons so I didn’t do White and Amendola, but I played both, as well as Chandler and LaFell.

I agree, I think while ownership is important, the key is finding the guys who are going hit that will put up 30-40 points (and then some lower priced guys who can get to 20 points).

price and expected upside have to be the top priorities. Ownership has value, but it’s a distant 3rd in my book.

In the example above, it wouldn’t matter if Wilson and Baldwin were both 20% or 1.2% owned to those who actually owned them. They were the best QB/WR combo of the week and came at a tremendous value. The real benefit to their low ownership was for people who didn’t use them since they still had a chance at some high finishes even though they missed on the top QB/WR combo. Had they both been 20% owned, then it would have been hard to cash and finish high if you faded them.

    Felt like a Blount week…

I can see why it would have felt like a Blount week from a usage standpoint, but matchup wise Philadelphia has a very good front 7.
