Yikes, I’m not even really that high on the Ravens relatively speaking but they’re 2-1 and just lost to the defending super bowl champs.

Next three games against the Redskins, Bengals and Eagles. Let’s check back when they’re 5-1

Call me when Lamar isn’t One and Done in the playoffs

2018 lose Wildcard game 23-17 to Chargers led by Rivers 🙄
    2019 lose to 6 seed Tennessee 28-12

I’m probably not really in the position to have an opinion, but Lamar was more of a project coming into the league with big potential. He’s not a finished product yet, by any means. The fact that he’s now 21-4 as a starter, in the regular season, with 3 of his loses to the Chiefs I believe, is pretty impressive. I realize a big part of that record is the defense, but it’s not like he’s Trent Dilfer out there. Maybe he’s a guy that folds under pressure, which is obviously a terrible trait for a QB, but that’s something a player can grow out of over time. I mean, even Peyton Manning who could never beat New England and seemed to always fold up in the playoffs eventually got over it in time.

Let’s see your list of QBs you’d rather have starting for your team?

Oh I get it, he is going to help you win more games than the games he is going to cost you but he is not a dynamic nor extremely accurate passer thus is not really a come from behind QB – I don’t mean one score but when you fall behind multiple scores. It’s also not just that he is 0-2 in the playoffs but he lost both in games they should have won – you have to win the games you are supposed to especially in the Playoffs.

Also QBs with his style of play have very short careers where they are dominant; the combination of teams being able to scheme against them and the physical toll of being of a running QB work against them.

He’s not going to have a Brady, Manning, Ben even ARod type of career; he’s going to be more Vick like (probably a shorter career than Vick) where the rushing stats drop off as do the wins.

Time will tell what path his career takes.

but there was no excuse for BAL’s bad running game, pocket presence, dropped passes, and bad throws from Lamar.

Yes there is. The coach pulls every RB immediately after a big run. Why any coach allows defenses to substitute when they are reeling is just stupid.

Yeah, they finished with a great record last year in the regular season also. Lost immediately in the playoffs as heavy favorites.

Not hating on the Ravens, they have a very solid defense…just tired of hearing all the “Lamar is awesome” talk. Dude is not even a good quarterback, just a great athlete. Big difference.

For his age, he’s historically been the most accurate PASSER in the history of the NFL.

He’s a plenty good quarterback, he just chokes in big games. He also doesn’t have a ton of offensive weapons. Mark Andrews isn’t a special player and Hollywood Brown is OK, I mean he’s fast, yet he isn’t a polished receiver.

Well you defend him like he is going to so I wanted to state my opinion. He’s just not a complete QB, yes he can win games he has not proven it in the playoffs against good defenses nor has been able to keep pace when playing the best offense in the league.

Everyone talked about Cam Newton the same way a few years back and then they got curbstomped by the Broncos D in the Super Bowl.

While I agree some, I also disagree because great (and “plenty good” as you say) QB’s make their WRs better.

Also, it should be easier to throw it downfield for LJ than many other QBs as he is a running threat on every play so something should come open underneath or downfield on almost every play; he’s just not seeing it, doesn’t understand it, simply missing guys and/or lacks the creativity and improvisation of the other mobile QBs like Mahomes, Russ and even ARod.

He’s young, let’s see how he looks in a couple years.

No doubt he’s not on Mahomes level…I’ve said it since last year, Mahomes is the best QB I’ve ever seen play. Russ and Rodgers aren’t far behind. So comparing him to some of the best QB’s in the history of Mankind isn’t quite fair.

Yet almost every team in the NFL with the exception of maybe 5 or 6 would be better with Lamar at QB.

As I said, let’s see in a few years if he starts “seeing it” better when it counts.

Dude is 23 years old. Has one of the best winning percentages ever to start a career. He just won MVP at 22 while leading the league in TD passes. No one is saying he’s the next coming of Joe Montana or Dan Marino but he’s going to do a lot of things in this league and probably won’t stop winning for awhile. The Vick comparison seems pretty accurate – minus the fact that people forget that Vick came back to damn near MVP form as basically a pocket passer with the Eagles after his stint in prison.
