If Nick Boyle catches a td then I’m rich. I’m playing for the outcome that I would normally be tilted by. If you can’t beat em, join em.

I had my best showdowns with that mentality actually.

Trying to think of a script where neither QB is optimal

Could really happen. Low scoring games if both defenses shows up. RBs on both side can score all TDs. Brown and hill both can get big plays but can be tackled between 1 to 5 yards from goal. KC can put a spy on Lamar.

I might enter 4 LUs with 2 ravens RBs and CEH / Williams at captain and go from there. Two of these 4 can smash. Also play one correlating def and kicker in each LUs.

Chiefs were giving it up on the left side of the field to wide receivers Have to see how Ward plays with that hand injury now that he’s back.

I’m getting sick of these showdowns with all the dupes – I had a couple good lineups last night with 5 of the top 6 scorers and one had Kamara CPT and the other Lazard CPT. One lineup had 205 dupes and the other in a diff contest had 100+ dupes

Both lineups had a kicker and left $400+ on table; not sure how get a unique lineup anymore unless you go super weird and reduce your chances of winning by avoiding half of the good plays.

I was mad the 2 times I’ve split the Milly and they were with only about 35 and 52 dupes which is rough enough – this 100-200+ dupes is getting ridiculous. With a kicker and money left on the table in a projected higher scoring game it baffles me that many people land on the same lineup.

The top prize was split two ways last night 200k apiece. Tonight there should be even more variations.

Yah I get it but I’m sure to play that combo; they put in more than the 2-10 LUs I usually play.

I would need data to show how many times Lamar Jackson played in a game and did not end up being optimal if translated to showdown format. I bet it is rare.

    Last week vs Hou?

I can tell you Jackson was in 9 showdowns last year, and was optimal in all of them. 4 at captain, 5 at flex.

On the opposite side, Mahomes was in 15(!) showdown contests last year, and was only optimal in 7, with only once at captain and 6 in flex.

Good showdown to do a single entry tournament.

  • NDNole

A unique will probably be no mahomes but also no Lamar at capt. So play Lamar but not at captain and dont play mahomes. Not sure how many there will be of that especially if you also leave money on the table.

  • Njsum1

Did my first second half showdown ever last night and came in 1st. Think it was a 95 entry tourney.

I’ll let y’all know if I’m on to something after tonight or If I just got 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

My first and Likely only build has Lamar at captain and no Mahomes.

Thanks Panda. Thats what I am getting at. Ill have Lamar in all lineups. Last night I was 25/25 Kamara. Not some amazing play since he was popular but lineups without him were dead. As were DST lineups.

Most of my initials are like that. Any Raven at CPT. Lamar and two Chiefs players at flex with no Mahomes.

Without both QBs its tough since not many players have a good floor or ceiling with the 30% snap split with the Baltimore running backs, Hill in a middling matchup,no Bal receivers with high usage, and Jackson can just run in touchdowns to take away from Andrews.Edwards-Helaire possibly facing negative game script although he could get some of the receiving work. Kelce is about the safest pick tonight.

  • monarch

Also these defenses may be inflated.

Ravens have played Texans and Browns. Chiefs have played the Texans in first game sans Hopkins and a rookie QB in his first ever game.

Why does this year seem to be the pot is split more frequently? Optimizers?

  • JSteele

So it sounds like Ingram is used for carries, Dobbins for passing plays and Edwards for blowouts.

Using that logic, Ingram if Baltimore wins, Dobbins if Baltimore plays from behind and Edwards if you think this game blows out.

I find that running backs correlate. Ill be using them together a bit. If the Ravens run 50 times they could all eat.

  • NDNole

I dont know if im going to fade mahomes because I think a lot of people may also try to fade to get unique which may be the uno reverse move unique. Im gonna look back over some prime drew brees when he was scoring a bunch and spreading the ball around days. Plenty of confounding showdowns with him when he was on his game. Mahomes kinda has that going right now.

EDIT: I also think Lamar at captain is gonna have too many dupes however we try it. That doesnt mean he wont be the optimal captain. He probably will. But im probably not gonna play him there and hope someone else goes off with him.

Or baltimore can get behind early and use dobbins who scores. Take the lead and use ingram who scores. End up blowing them out early in the 3rd. Edwards gets some run and scores. Suddenly KC comes back in the 4th. Everybody gets run in that case. Uno reverse in full effect.
