It’s not uncommon for a QB to outscore his receivers.

Obviously if one WR/TE is getting all the TDs, then yeah. But what about when the QB completes 20 passes with 2 TDs and the TDs go to different receivers, and no receiver catches more than 7?

Last nights optimal lineup included Cam Newton as Captain so if they can sneak in a rushing TD it could easily vault them over any of the their receivers. Look at what Dak Prescott would have done as a Captain in that game yesterday with 450 yards only 1 TD and 3 rushing TD’s.

Agree with all of this Panda, provided you feel a QB will target that same pass catcher over and over. Carr likely would, using Waller over and over. Brees – I could see a scenario where he is optimal at Captain and throwing a TD to 3 different people

Maybe, but then Brees is the 2nd most expensive player and you have to take shortcuts elsewhere. This might work tonight, as Thomas is out, and due to Smith and Harris being fairly cheap, especially Harris, you can put Brees at captain and make a pretty solid build if you plug in Harris.

As a Raiders fan, as someone who thinks Jacobs might be the best RB in the league behind a huge offensive line and a coach that loves to run and someone who is a decent SD player I have one piece of advice for tonight….

Do not feel like you need to force Josh Jacobs into your lineup.

I have a LU w no Kamara (Murray instead) and I have $ left over for Jacobs but I really want to be different. Is it too risky to go Walker over Jacobs, or does Jacobs just get too much usage. I have Kamara/Jacobs in my other 2 and I remember using Jacobs in a Showdown last year vs a weak run D and he did absolutely nothing.

Not sure what this is directed at. My initial comment specifically was about not putting a QB at captain unless they’re a running QB and Cam and Russ last night were perfect examples.

Prescott is borderline. He’s not really a running QB, but runs more than the average QB. That one is debatable. I mean, Dak has 24 career rushing TD’s, while Carr has 3 and Carr has been in the league longer.

If you are already playing Carr and another Raiders receiver than IMO Waller is a superior SD play tonight to Jacobs in terms of correlation/ownership and trying to win the tournament

Panda….people just want to play these immobile expensive QBs at captain despite the odds of them being optimal at probably five percent tonight. Id just let them do it.

Don’t forget, Hill can vulture Brees near the goal line. You’d be sick to watch them drive down there and watch Hill go in.

Edit, replied to the wrong person my bad

My comment was a general one, not specifically about tonight.

I’m always hesitant to use Brees in showdown. He’s expensive and there’s always a risk of Taysom coming in.

Saints D!. They put up 17 points on a way better offense in Tampa Bay last week. Carr has to relay on these rookie WR’s.

  • 33BeRad

Any of you stats people know how Saints do without Thomas? Someone in here has to have some sort of spreadsheet for things like that.

He missed one game in 2016 and the result wasn’t good.

4k on the table in fanduel. I’m into it

How do you figure WAY better? Raiders have a better line, better running back and better QB currently(obviously Brady is a much better career QB but he’s 43 and not great anymore). Tampa has better receivers but Raiders has the better TE and we don’t know what Ruggs is yet. Carr is similar to Brady in he doesn’t take a lot of sacks nor does he turn it over a lot. Plus Raiders will try to run. And with no Thomas we can’t be so certain of how the Saints offense will go. Plus there is always Brees on the road. What if Raiders score first and are able to run most of the game?

Edit: I had put Oakland in and had to keep changing it to Raiders, HAHA!

Thoughts on Sanders vs Cook? Trying to decide who ends up the better option here. Thinking of fading sanders bc everyone will immediately start there.

My thoughts on Sanders is that it’s his 2nd game with the Saints and he’s unlikely to fill a heavy volume based role. He even said he’s only 85% comfortable with the offense.

Although they did use him in the red zone and he grabbed a TD, I wouldn’t be expecting like 10 targets 150 yards.

Do we HAVE to play Tre Smith? Remember that Showdown last year (or year before) that he broke the slate w 3 big catches and a TD?

  • klf_is_gonna_rock_ya

Random question – on DK, I have a $25 ticket that I won in a contest. What happens if I don’t use it? Does it turn into $25 cash in the account or do I lose it? Thanks!

  • Brendan239

Doing 4 FD LUs, fading Manny, Tre in 2 (1 MVP), Edwards in 1, Carlson in 1, Cook MVP in 1. GL tonight.

BTW, I’ve been coming within 5 points of 1st in these Showdowns so hopefully i can finally get one!

  • JSteele

    Ruggs is expected to play

  • superjon

    Tied for 1st last night.

    Can lighting strike twice?

    Time to research.

if it’s a generic 25 ticket you need to use it

if it’s for a specific contest then it depends whether that specific contest fills

It is a specific contest. NBA $25 fantasy BBall millionaire. I never play the NBA. I went into that tab on the DK site and don’t see that contest as an option although it may be for a future date.

There is a 25$ showdown one in the lobby, but there was NBA millionaire early in the playoffs as well. I would check with support.

  • Dr_Gonzo

Do the Saints ever play Kamara at WR? I feel like there was some times last year but I’m not sure. Trying to think what Payton will do without MT.
