Thanks for opening this thread up

HOF game Dallas vs Arizona in 2 days; I haven’t heard much on what teams are doing for this one besides early chatter on Dallas not dressing Dak or Zeke – I assume that will extend to many other normal starters.

DK is offering a 2 game slate to kick off the NFL preseason with Thursday’s HOF game tied to next Wednesday’s Houston at Carolina game. They seem to be filling up nicely and they’ve even added a second GPP at some price points. This bodes well for GPP sizing when they open the rest of the Preseason Week 1 slates.

Seth Yates posted a really helpful chart on Twitter that shows which teams currently have multiple kickers on their roster. (Hint: Avoid those kickers!)

no idea how to even process a 2 game slate in preseason. ha can’t imagine a full slate

Feels like a Touchdown Mike week

    From New England practice report:
“First goal-line carry of camp in full pads goes to Mike Gillislee. Powers up middle for TD. Top candidate to replace LeGarrette Blount

I’ll be all in on the NFL talk during regular season but I’ll leave the preseason for you degens… can’t wait though!!!

  • BIF

What do you mean “you degens…” ?

  • gunthie176

Cards starters all benched, including backup QB. It’ll be Gabbert 1st half, Knight 2nd half.

I think the skill edge is far bigger in preseason than it is during the regular season.

First bit of advice: the Hall of Fame game typically sucks and tons of starters don’t play at all. Find the teams with the thinnest depth charts at each position, and pick end-of-roster-type players who are likely to get lots of volume (which might just mean playing half the game). Scores will be low. You’ll need to hit the top defense and probably the top kicker if on FD since it’s just a 2-game slate.

I agree 100% that is probably the best advice anyone can give to new players playing preseason dfs. i wish i signed up for rotogrinders a year earlier so all my top finishes could show on my account. 2015 i profited over 30k , took down 4 of the big gpps in preseason finished top 10 and had a top 20 finish in milly maker that year. last year only profited around 1k. a gpp winning score can be between 80-110 in the preseason while in the regular season you want to hit anywhere between 200-270.

Who we liking for QB on that 2 game slate? I’m thinking Watson, Webb or maybe even Gabbert.

watson should be the top play but since the games are 6 days a part its really hard. this slate will be the toughest because of that. hopefully a lot of people still play the starters and we can get free money.

  • crazypaul

Gabbert guaranteed to start and play a full half pushes me towards him even though I normally pass on the HOF game entirely.

I disagree gabbert is awful plus Arizona needs to figure out what rb will make the team.

  • Frustrated

HoF game is basically Gabbert vs. Moore in the first half. Knight vs. Rush in the 2nd half. Definitely going to get plenty of minutes in this one the question is whether or not those are quality minutes and what the story will be in the Houston-Carolina game…which we probably won’t get until next week so might just have to bite the bullet in the HoF game.

  • cln2013

This game is going to have a lot of rushing. I’m expecting a lot of turnovers from the qb

Does anyone know if there is a lineup builder anywhere for preseason? Have a player pool I like but difficult to build by hand.

I wouldn’t count on it. Preseason is going to have very limited amount of resources online. Plus since salaries don’t matter, I don’t even see the point of a lineup builder that much.

They have talked about this 2 years ago. I wish they had it as it allows me to manage ownership %s and build lineups so fast. It would save a ton of time.

At lot of people are going to say that preseason DFS is only for degenerate gamblers. Ignore those people, they either haven’t tried preseason or they simply aren’t willing to put in the work to be profitable. This is a quote from Seth Yates article.

  • Danielv22

Beyond the starters, Watson has the most talent and could easily score 3-4 TDs… the problem is that Houston is already treating him like a starter- for good reason- and starters aren’t playing this first preseason game. I’d be surprised if Watson got more than a quarter of play

  • Danielv22

W that being said, the second best non-starting qb is knight. Sure he’s competing w gabbert but gabberts had plenty of opportunity to show his stuff in the NFL and just sucks. Houston may and should give knight a half to sling it out and show off his stuff
