Aaaahhh, the degenerate within us, playing the Showdown in the Pro Bowl. As if watching it wasn’t bad enough. However, there’s money to be made. My take:

I’m avoiding QBs and RBs, as unless the QB throws for multiple TDs and the RB runs for multiple TDs they won’t get you points. You don’t get points for throws or runs and you won’t get many of those from each. TEs, young WRs, and even DST will be where I’m looking. DST you say? It’s a careless game, there are Hail Marys intercepted, fumbles, and a few sacks. Leaning George Kittle for Captain, but I like Tyreke and JuJu too.

Nice. I’m going to simply have a core of six players and make one LU with each as the captain since cap is not a concern. Kittle is both my favorite and risky since he played with cracked ribs.

If you don’t know why this is a bad idea I’m not going to bother explaining. Each team has three QBs. Passing TDs are only worth 4 points instead of 6. Also passing yards are only .025 instead of .1. So you get reduced points for stats on a player that will see less snaps than just about any WR/TE.

I’m honestly hoping the masses are using the QBs. The only way I would touch a QB is if I thought someone like Russell Wilson might snag a rushing TD.

Hey Seth, I reread your Pro Bowl article from last year. Does most of that general thinking still hold true for this season? Thanks!

I will have more Watson than Wilson for that same reason plus he likes to take more chances down the field. Maybe he hits a couple of long ones, though the weather/wind situation has me a little wary. Maybe will have more pass catchers out of the backfield like Barkley for that reason. Catch a short one and go a long way.

everyone play running backs and defense !! Its raining (and I want all the wr/te to myself)

This weather just makes me like the TEs even more. I don’t think I’ve made a lineup yet that didn’t have at least one of Kittle, Ebron, or Cook. A lot have two of them. I’ll sprinkle in a few Hooper as well.

I’d be interested to see everybody’s top few guys as far as exposure.
So far I’m heaviest on Kittle, Juju, and Landry. Plenty of Ebron and Cook too.

Don’t think they are in play at all between goal posts narrowed, wind/rain, different holders, shootout games where they likely go for it on 4th down more often plus I can play Hooper for similar price.

I am looking at the rosters and trying to figure out what kind of offense will be played.
the AFC has QB’s and WR for the deep pass. The NFC has the receiving RB and QB’s that are more control offenses. Those are the strength’s in my opinion. But its the pro bowl and everyone is good. I keep leaning to all AFC guys with a hope the NFC Defense gets some pic-6’s. and my man Tarik Cohen making good on opportunity.

  • monarch

Which RB will be in the 4th Q when everyone just wants the game to be over? Cohen and Conner?

The captain spot will be key.

One player will unexpectedly see 10% of snaps and put up 1.8 DK points at 30% ownership. I think that player is Ebron.

I think I’m gonna play the under here @ 56, but cheap defensive TD’s in the rain worry me.

I’m not sure any TE gets that high. You’d be leaving money on the table in most cases and people are not apt to do that.

It’s too bad DK went away from that to focus on their Showdowns.

Is it? I do miss the defensive players combined with offense for the super bowl

So you have Jared Cook at 90% of snaps?
